Plan someplace else, August is too hot for a trip to Goa! Just saying.

I live in the hills, so it is still hot for me.
You should explore Ponda on Bike specially. Weather is awesome now a days. It's a monsoon time. Not at all hot. I have just visited goa last week only. It's raining all day so be prepared with your raincoat.

Ponda is 30kms from panjim.. the route is great and temples are there in Ponda.
In South Goa, there is some tension between South and Non-south Goa cabs. Since, may a time, South Goan cab people won't allow North Cabs, they increase the charges high. So be careful.

Thanks for the heads up.
It's pouring heavily....all roads are blocked....better shift to October

Better shift your trip to October, it's raining heavily

AUGUST WIL BE KIND OF A RISK AS THERE IS HEAVY RAIN AT PRESENT BUT IF THE CLIMATE IS OK THE GOA IS ANY SEASON PLACE.

Monsoon is not the best time for Goa but if you hv to go anyway then perhaps book hotels just for one day whichever side u r on if you're looking for cheap accommodation. There r a lot of cheap hotels if u visit them personally n that ways u can choose location of ur own choice.

Heavy rain and roads are blocked. Aftermath would be nasty after this heavy rain. Ask in FB Bagpackers and Travellers India group, you may find local you can give you more picture of the status of Goa.

For stay I would suggest whispering palms beach resort and goan village resort and for places to visit you can go to anjuna, there are nice shopping places there, ancestral Goa it's an offbeat destination then you can take up cruise ride for the evening

Monsoon is not a preferred season to visit Goa. It pours heavily during this season. Less options to hangout. If you can manage to shift the trip to October then it will be the pleasant journey. You will be able enjoy the real Goa. By that time all places will start to reopen.

Aug 15th - Aug 19th is the best time during offseason to travel to Goa as Monsoon blast, freedom blast, Krank etc parties take place. So book your accommodation in such a way if you wanted to attend the event. In North Goa, you can stay at The Bucket List Hostel and in South , you can stay at Rainbow Lining hostels. Also, you can check for Airbnbs for Villas or houses. Its raining like every year but its not very bad especially in the North. https://youtu.be/lUZcqE_xxak

Butterfly Beach. . The unfrequented and concealed beach of Goa is a masterpiece on its own. ... Palolem Beach.. The palm grooves, shacks and the long stretch of the pristine beach carrying white sand is just fantabulous! ... Polem Beach. ...
