I suggest you to visit Hostelworld where you meet Portuguese or foreigners around the globe. living in the Portuguese villa is good but if you want to experience you have to interact with peoples. and this hostel is much cheaper than villa and you planning to go in December as you know in december goa is crowded by travellers. because of peak season the hotels is booked in advanced and some hotels are unbooked they raised their prices just because of christmas and new year I suggest you to book your hotels now by giving the link below and rock goa. https://www.hostelworld.com/search?search_keywords=Goa%2C+India&country=India&city=Goa&date_from=2018-12-08&date_to=2018-12-20&number_of_guests=2 .Happy Travelling

Hey Jay, You can stay in a hotel near Baga beach. It is known as Babu's place. It costs around 1500 and plus it's really good place with good interiors and those interiors will surely give you a Portuguese feel
