You need a whole day for sightseeing. There are same tour plans with fixed spots for all tour agencies & drivers & they are costly. For the cheapest rate, hire a car from Lower Clubside taxi stand and customize the spots. Must visit : Zoo & HMI, ropeway, Japanese temple & peace pagoda, happy valley/ rangeet valley tea garden, Ava art gallery, toytrain station, rock garden (costs extra 1500/- but skip 2-3 usual spots they say & bargain for customized rate). You can add 3-point (tiger hill,Ghoom monastery & batasia loop) to this plan & the negotiable cost will be 3000-3500/- . People start with tiger hill at the dawn, but the weather is unpredictable in May,so getting a clear view of the sunrise & Kanchenjunga isn't easy. On a sunny day, you'll get a better view of the peak from 'kanchenjunga view point' below Mahaakal mandir (walking distance from Darjeeling mall). On 2nd day : ✓ Visit Mahaakal mandir, shrubbery park by walking. ✓ Spend time in the mall & mall market ✓ Shop winter garments, Darjeeling tea from showrooms ( like golden tips, narhmull's, mayukh) only, local bakery products & variety of local pickles. ✓ Dine at Glenary's with live music & have their bakery products, taste sausage & hot chocolate at Keventer's. Start early in the morning for sightseeing. If u don't have much time on the day of arrival, do it on the 2nd.

Hi Audrija, if you want to do something Touristy, then you can go to Tiger Hill. Or else i would suggest you wear your sneakers and just walk in town. Visit Glenarys, you will get some amazing pies there. You could visit either Kurseong or Kalimpong on one of the days.
