I have been to Hua Hin, Chiang Mai & Chiang Rai...these are the less touristy places, each having their own charm... The nights markets are a must visit.

Hi Purvesh, One of the offbeat places you can visit in Thailand is Chiang Mai or you can travel down south to Koh Lipe. Since Ayutthaya is just an hr away from Bangkok, you can go there too. Ayutthaya - From Suvarnabhumi Airport take a free shuttle to Don Muang Airport. The train station is walking distance. Take a train and head directly to Ayutthaya. Take a tuktuk and roam all the places within 3 - 4 hrs (you got to bargain) Chiang Mai - Take a flight from Don Muang Airport to Chinag Mai. It takes around 1.5 hrs. Once you land its easy to book a cab. There are a lot of places to visit there. It is not beach destination and falls in the north of Thailand. Koh Lipe - Fly from Don Muang to Hat Yai Airport. If you speak to your hotel they would arrange pickup. Your pickup will pick you from the airport and drop you at Satun ferry. From there you take a boat and reach Koh Lipe, which takes around and hr to reach. You can either ask your hotel to pay for the entire journey or you can go online and book your ferry tickets.

Away from the most well-known tourist destinations, some unconventional places to explore in Thailand are Pai in the northern mountains, which is known for its laid-back vibe and breathtaking scenery; Koh Lipe, which has immaculate beaches and an array of colorful marine life; Khao Sok National Park, which has lush rainforests and hidden lakes; Chiang Khan, which has a charming riverside setting and local culture; and Koh Yao Noi, which has a tranquil atmosphere and authentic Thai island life. These locations provide distinctive experiences away from the throng, making them ideal for daring tourists looking for something new in Thailand. Are you willing to travel to Thailand from the USA?
