It depends on what you want to experience in Triund. If you are looking for a snowy weather then you should go to triund after November, probably January or February. And if you want to experience a pleasant and windy weather then go in either May or June.
October can also be a good time to visit the place but it would neither have a windy nor snowy weather. It will be cold.
I visited Triund in September and I had to face lot of rain at that time. So, try not go to Himachal untill monsoon retreats.

April to June as after that there is a season of rain and from September to November and along with the option of trek you can also enjoy the best paragliding experience at Bir-Billing in these months.

The Trek from McLeodganj to Triund is a sharp one of over 1100 metres and it is absolutely worth it because of the refreshing walks amongst the Rhododendron and Oak Forests. The months of May-June & September-October are the best time to visit this place as it is very pleasant here during these months.

There is no best season beacause every season will give you different scenaries of mountain and you can plan trek acc. to your own personal intrest like you love snow, brown mountains, green mountains or cloud below the mountains. my personal best season is july last or august ist week because thats the time no crowd and only you and nature and you will feel on the top and cloud on your feet. happy &safe journey👍
