Nikon D 5600 is also good option.
It's totally ur call and if you want some clear picture or wide angle picture and 4k video than u can go for go pro and now go pro hero 7black is in trending ... but if you want click some landscape and portrait than go for DSLR camera.

Both have different features. We use both. For pics/videos taken from a moving object and underwater shots, use GoPro. For other usages, use DSLR.

See choose wisely which you need. DSLR if you are more into taking travel pics. GO pro is for mainly video making. now GP7 give gimbal type stability for videos , so if addventerous buy go pro 7 and also u cna take wide angle pics also with same. DSLR if not used before go for basic ones. now even a high end mobile have good photos.

If purely for travel purpose then gopro is good...awesome video quality great advantage is can be used underwater...but if you are looking something as professional whether travel or portrait then Dslr is must

For the ease of carry i would prefer Go Pro..(and also for some macro shots with different perspective )drawbacks is battery (unless you carry 3 to 4 extra batteries) DSLR is the best if your into great landscape photography and kind of lens you have

They both are for two different kind of usage, go pro is action camera which dslr won't capture with the kind of quality go pro can, but dslr for still shots and video calls s awesome where go pro lacks a little, but for traveling, my suggestion is if you are into adventures too, buy both

Both are different if you want to make traveling video clips then GoPro is best Coz GoPro provide high stability and attractive fish eye effect. if you want to bye camera for photography perpose then go for Nikon d5600 or any other entry level DSLR or mirror less camera.

It all depends on the kind of photography u want to. For still and details prefere a dslr and for action vidoes, stable videos and wide perspective pictures you can go for gopro.
