Day 1

➡️Background of the place:  A group of people from countries like USA, Germany & France visited this village &  requested villagers to help them in transforming the locality into a  painted hamlet, showcasing the rich cultural heritage, paintings of martyrs of Punjab, ideal ways of living & other elements of art and culture.

The local administration also joined hands with the team & extended full support to the nobel cause. This  initiative & the village became the  limelight of Punjab & inspired others to beautify their localities & maintain cleanliness in the surroundings.

➡️ My Story- The State of Punjab that has been feeding the world from decades has deep cultural roots that are immersed in simplicity, belongingness & togetherness. Till date the villages use the same old methods of producing jaggery (gud), growing crops by ploughing with cows & using dung balls to cook food. Though the Villages have progressed &  have touch of Urbanisation but still they relish the age old practices of doing work manually & the elders gather at the common place of Village called SHAMLAT to discuss the issues of world/society and know the well being of near and dear ones alng with playing cards.

When I visited this place, the people welcomed me with open arms. They offered tea, lassi &  food & narrating stories about the place with the feeling of belongingness & love. This clean painted village is a must visit place to see &  feel the real beauty that lies in simplicity &  togetherness.
