It is actually an island, surrounded by the rivulets of Cauvery river, encircling its banks on all sides. And, along with this comes a beautiful resort, situated amongst the lush greens of the Nisargadhama Island, right in the middle of the walkable piece of land. The hanging bridge that took me across the river was an amazing experience. And to add to this were the ever-adventurous opportunities to row a boat in the river streams, and go on some enjoyable elephant rides and mostly the exceedingly incredible views of the flora and fauna around the island. Especially numerous species of deer, peacocks, monkeys and birds - all inhabitants in their very natural habitat.
Kanger Valley National Park
The Kanger Valley National Park is the biggest classified forest area in Chhattisgarh and is home to many species of flora and fauna. To visit this national park is a fantastic experience, the Kanger river flows through the park and also has tiny settlements of native tribal people.
Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary
A charming expansive area full of birds, both common and endangered, Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary is one of a kind in every sense of the word. Migratory birds such as the pintail, garganey, grey wagtail, blue-winged teal, common sandpiper and many others can be seen frolicking their ways around till the end of time. It's actually very nice to see the birds having a place they call home, even amidst the hustle and bustle of a metro.
Another beautiful nook in the Hauz Khas Village, this place is known for its extraordinary natural beauty and the greenery. It is an immensely detoxifying place away from the pollution of the city. the park is a favorite of morning and evening walkers and also for people who want to escape the hot summer afternoons. The animals here are left to roam in their natural habitat and the view of them from a far away distance is blissful. The Pind Balluci Restaurant is another attractive reason for which you would visit the place.
