Day 1 in Gangtok was spent peacefully strolling aroubd the M.G. Road and filling our stomach with as many momos as we can. We also covered 4-5 tourist points which included Tashi view point, few local falls and a nearby monastery. We also tried the local food, Thupka (we weren’t fond of it btw). The evening was spent chugging the local beer of Gangtok which was very cheap and amazing and cafe hopping on MG road.
Day 2 was completely reserved for Changu Lake. As we went in the month of March, we weren’t expecting snow but to our surprise there was a heavy snowfall happening at the top of the mountains due to the which we couldn’t go upto Nathula Paas. Our hotel booked the cab for us and got us our required passes for going to Changu Lake. The entire day passed in a gif playing in snow and having maggie and momos from the nearby shacks. The beauty was mesmerising. But I will not recommend a person suffering from motion sickness to go at the top because the silk route is really curvy and can prove to be a spoil sport for the person.
Day 3 was the last day in Gangtok. We decided to kick start the day by having pancakes from Baker’s Cafe and then lazying around the MG road all day long.
And yes I bought flowers and decided to keep them with me all day ! ????
