GOAying Beyond — How I plan to experience The Unexplored Goan Life!

For the first time I'm going to explore the new normal in Goa with Slow Travel as a philosophy. This means just one plan: Head out in a new direction everyday and let the road show a Goa beyond beaches - Sleepy villages, green landscapes, adventurous beach treks, stories of the goan life and endless drives through stretches of the backwaters & vast fields, all while escaping the crowded tourist places in Goa. Essentially, I traveled to all the unexplored places to visit in Goa. This endeavor made me realize, there are more things to do in Goa than what your regular tour guide shows you.

I realised that a trip to Goa must be long and unhurried; the pace of the holiday must be like the life as lived by locals, going beyond the Goan nightlife. One must be open to discoveries, travel disruptions, and cultural differences. Moreover it is not just about blindly running behind the so called best places to visit. It’s about taking the time to explore the destination thoroughly and connecting with it. You slow down and live for the here and now and truly experience and enjoy a place, a moment, or a chance meeting with a local. It is this creation of a bond that makes your journey more meaningful and this is what completed my epic Goa trip.

But in the end do remember that COVID is still very much a REALITY!!!

It’s true that Goa is opening up for tourism, but is it safe to travel during covid. Well, we are not here to give you gyaan on travelling to Goa after lockdown. But it goes without saying that if possible please avoid travelling for some more time. Still if you have to, please travel responsibly - not only for your own sake but for others as well.

The party capital is mostly packed with tourists, because nobody needs a reason or a season to visit Goa. But, if you are an avid traveller and you are looking for something more than just the conventional spots, then you should totally visit these hidden spots and secret treasures of Goa.
