Sethan Village: Offbeat Himachal Pradesh
Searching for a Peaceful Hidden Destination for a total authentic pahadi experience?
Sethan village is considered to be the most peaceful and offbeat destination in Himachal Pradesh.
Sethan village is a total Winter paradise in a fairyland, hidden in the valleys of Himachal Pradesh.
The Sethan village is inhabited by the migrants of adjoining Lahaul and Spiti district is mainly of Buddhist origin. During peak winters most of the locals tend to move to the lower altitude towns of Kullu valley leaving Sethan a beautifully deserted village, before moving back in summer again. In the winters the village offers crystal clear panoramic views of the towering Dhauladhar and Pir-panjal ranges while itself covered in the blanket of snow.
Perched at about 3200 meters above sea level and almost an hour’s drive from the bustling town of Manali, Sethan in winters is an ideal place for snow activities like Snowboarding, Snow trekking and sledding among many others.
Where to stay in Sethan?
There are very few staying options at Sethan. I highly recommend staying at Hippie in hills homestay. They offer a complete package that includes Stay+Food+Snow activities+Transportation at a very reasonable price.
16 kms away from Manali, Sethan Village is one of the Unexplored Himachal Pradesh’s destination. Sethan is a place for slow travelers.
We got ourselves a full package including Food, Transportation, Stay, Permits and Hiking from Hippie in Hills for Rs.2400/- per person But you can add up a snowboarding activity into the package for Rs 3000/- That is pretty reasonable.
Sethan is among the most popular Skiing / Snowboarding destination around Manali.
We stayed at Hippie in Hills homestay in Sethan.
Recently, Igloo stays have been started in sethan, So you should definitely check that out too.
How to reach Sethan?
Located approximately at a 45-minute drive from Manali, You can book a private cab from Manali itself Or you can get the full package from any local adventure sports company in Manali.
