Travel with a purpose. In just about any country, city, community, space there is a way to give back somehow.
We had an opportunity to volunteer in Tirthan Valley with a traditional Himachali homestay owner Dhanna Bisht.
She runs this beautiful quaint “Sneha Homestay” there. With some lovely local food and coffee, we had a nice session with her on how to use social media to run local homestays.
We helped her understand basics of Instagram, Facebook and other social media platforms, also understanding from her the issues they face to run homestays and how online marketing can help her in sustainable growth.
We are very thankful to Himalayan Volunteer Tourism for letting us contribute in whatever way we could, spending a couple of hours from our trip with Dhanna was one of the highlights. We will always make it a point to give a little something back every now and then.
