Bijali Mahadev, a famous Shiva temple was in my wish list since I heard of this place. Being a shiva devotee, the mythological places have always been the places of my interest. Knowing about the myths, connecting them to logics and then enjoying the serenity and positivity of the places I absolutely crave for. For me all the plans happens all of sudden. This was the time for Kullu Dussehra and I was so keen to witness it. Residing just 6 hrs away from Kullu made it real easy for me to skip my work place, visiting Dussehra and coming back. Started the day in the morning and I was at Bhuntar at around 2 o’o clock and stayed there for the day. It was a lovely home stay called Ram riviera home stay. This home stay was just on the bank of river Beas. The view was serene and beautiful, the hosts were warm and kind. What else do you need for a perfect weekend. As it was the time for famous Kullu Dussehra, the roads were full and it became almost impossible to reach the destination, so it was decided to visit Bijli Mahadev as it was not being possible for us to witness the Dussehra festival. In my mind, bijli mahadev was just a temple on some hill surrounded by jungle. But to my surprise, the place was beautiful like anything. It was like a miniature version of Kashmir for me. Large, lush green land surrounded by pine trees. You can see the whole Kullu from there. Now it was not just a place of faith for me, it was a place of adventure for me. I was awestruck by the beauty of the place and at the same time I was thankful as I was able to witness such mesmerising beauty. You were in the top and the whole City was beneath you. Trust me it was no less than what you can dream of. They have places there to stay also but we were short of time and there is also a motor-able path there along with the trek. The trek was full of fruit bearing trees which added a little romance to the trek, you can try going off the trek too.
Whatever path you will follow, the beauty there will not be failed to impress you. If you are in and around Kullu. This place should be in your must visit places.
