No major city in America is as immersed in natural beauty as Seattle. Seattle, Washington is blessed with breathtaking views of the Cascade Mountain Range on one side and the Puget Sound on the other. Continental United States’ fourth tallest mountain and an active volcano, Mount Rainier, is just a couple of hours from Seattle. There aren’t many cities that boast of a view of an active volcano from downtown! There are several beautiful hikes, lakes and waterfalls close to Seattle. One of the most popular things to do in Seattle is to take day trips to the Goat Lake or Hidden Lake that are attractive getaways from Seattle’s urban setting. Not too many snow-covered peaks around San Francisco, California eh?

Apart from being one of the best ways to get your bearings in Rio, a trip up the Sugar Loaf Mountain (Pâo de Açúcar) is also a way of enjoying some of the most spectacular views on earth. From time to time shows by major Brazilian artists are held on the Morro da Urca, where revellers can dance the night away and watch the city's lights glittering below them by night.

Perched on Howell Mountain, Cade winery‘s breathtaking view is second to none in the northern valley. Take advantage of it and sample delicious wines in an intimate interior decor or step outside to admire the splendors the terrace has to offer.

If you plan to visit Colorado, a great stop would have to be Rocky Mountain National Park. This park was established in 1915 to preserve and celebrate the amazing splendor and natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. If you enjoy hiking, this park has a very large number of trails at varying altitudes from 9,000-13,000 feet up that are great for hiking. If you enjoy watching the wildlife, there is an incredible level of biodiversity present in this park, with a variety of birds and other animals, such as elk, to view from a distance. For wildlife spotters, the elk aren't shy.Lakes are main attractions.

The sunrise view is breathtaking, but at that time of day and that elevation, the temperature can easily dip to freezing and you will need winter clothing or a blanket to feel comfortable on your climb up. For the more athletic, you can also tour Haleakala with a bike
