A 3 hour drive from Montreal is a city with the charm of Europe - Quebec City. This place is a treat for the eyes, with some beautiful architecture standing tall. It is well known for its quaint Old City, it’s grand winter festival, and gorgeous architecture. The highlight is the Chateau Frontenac, which overlooks the St. Lawrence river. Just outside of Quebec City, along the northern shore of the St Lawrence, it is worth stopping at Montmorency Falls - it is the highest waterfall in the province of Quebec and is a nice place to stretch the legs and walk around.
MONTREAL What’s Montreal without bagels, poutine, bagels, smoked meat sandwich, pâté chinois, and maple pie? Very hungry. The city is counted amongst those with the highest number of restaurants per capita.

Cottage on private island, Ottawa, Canada – A beautiful 100-year-old rustic cottage on a private island, which comes with a treehouse, wood-stove, a swimming dock, and a lot more; this is what dreams are made of. Not only can you go kayaking, canoeing, sailing and fishing, you will be amid wilderness. You will be surrounded by herons, geese, turkey vultures, turtles, mink, muskrat, beavers, bullfrogs, the occasional deer, garter snakes, dragonflies, and monarch butterflies. This place is purely for nature lovers. Be ready to be transported to the good old times because you will be living on the island without modern day amenities like WI-FI.
The ship has entered Canadian waters overnight and I am thrilled to learn that we will be docking at Victoria, B.C. for the day. The capital of British Columbia, this gorgeous old city is also known as the city of gardens. I visit, first of all, two of the city’s most celebrated landmarks, the British Columbia Parliament Buildings and the Fairmont Empress hotel.
From downtown Kelowna, the Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park is a short 25 minute drive up into the surrounding hillside through rolling vineyards and past several amazing lookout points. The road is partially paved, while the last eight kilometers are grated dirt road and quite rugged. As such, a vehicle with a higher clearance is recommended (our SUV worked well). Although we did see many cars make the trip, slower driving is a must to ensure you don’t bottom out on some of the bigger potholes. As for signage, the road is clearly marked with blue signs directing visitors to the Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park and making navigation simple.
Jasper is a small town with a lot of places to see. It has a huge candy shop in the middle of the city which is extremely popular for children’s sour candy. It is like the Willy Wonka shops that all children dream of. The candy shop has a wide variety of chocolates. It is popular throughout the city. It is simply called ‘candy shop’. There is a pizzeria right near the Candy shop and It claims to have the best pizza in all of Alberta. Try for yourself and tell us about what you think!
