If you are looking for a break from your hectic life and at the same time you want to wrap it within a day or two. Rishikesh is the perfect destination for you and your friends near Delhi. The trip is also pretty economical.
Where is it and How to Reach?
Its just 250 km from Delhi in Uttarakhand. It is located in the Himalayan foothills. You will found yourself between low hills on the bank of river Ganges. You can drive a car from Delhi on your own that would take approximately 6 hours or you can get a bus to rishikesh that are price very low.
How is the weather ?
Weather is usually cooler than what you find in Delhi. The difference is not much and it is still hot but the nights are really comforting. The cool winds and a cooler temperature is sure to make your experience great.
Where to Stay?
Although various hotels are available there, I would personally suggest you to stay in river side tents. I personally enjoyed it more. You will buffet meal, bonfire and a much more joyful experience near the river on the sand. The tents would also be much cheaper than hotels.
What to do?
Rishikesh is famous for a lot of adventurous activities like river rafting, Bungee jumping and river ziplining. While rafting can be booked by consulting your hotel/camp, one has to visit 'Jumping Heights' for Bungee jumping. As per I know jumping is closed on tuesday so plan accordingly. Other than these you can also visit temples there and go through the famous Laxman Jhula.
