Kerala is known for its exotic wildlife, sprawling tea and spice plantations, tranquil stretches of emerald Backwaters, and a long shoreline with serene beaches.

This cycling journey of Kerala is designed for those travellers who are short of time but would like to cover all the above mentioned highlights of Kerala. We see the lush green tea plantations in Munnar, explore the exotic wildlife at Periyar Sanctuary in a boat, walk through a spice plantation in Thekkady with an expert, spend couple of nights in Kumarakom and Alappuzha (the stunning Backwaters region). We end the tour at the scenic beach of Marari for a bit of sun, sea and sand.

This morning we will pick you from your hotel in Cochin and we cycle to Munnar. At 1600m above sea level, with its sprawling lush green hills and tea plantations, Munnar is a very popular. In the afternoon we will visit a tea plantation and a tea museum to taste tea.

This morning we cycle to Thekkady. Post lunch, we will cycle to Periyar Tiger Reserve. Sprawled over an area of 925 Sq. km., Periyar is one of the 27 tiger reserves in India. Enjoy a boat safari and see herds of elephants and sambars and also tiger, gaurs, lion tailed macaques and Nilgiri langurs.

This morning we will walk through a spice plantation with a Naturalist and see the cultivation and harvesting of coffee, cardamom, cloves and pepper. Post breakfast we cycle to Kumarakom. Kumarakom is a serenely beautiful and scenic backwater destination, a charming peninsula jutting into the ever-effervescent Vembanad Lake.

Post breakfast, we ride to Alappuzha, another destination in the Backwaters region. Tonight we stay in a charming homestay which stands calm and serene on the bank of a canal leading to river Pampa.

This morning we cycle to the fishing village of Marari. The village of Mararikulam lies on a forgotten shore, midway up the Malabar Coast, where the Indian Ocean finally decides that it has now become the Arabian Sea. Marari is a perfect picture of Kerala's fishing villages, its essence. Next morning you will be driven to Cochin (1.5 hour).
