Kashmir – Paradise on Earth
Famous poet Amir Khusro once said “Gar firdaus e bar rue zameen asto; ami asto, ami asto, ami asto …”, and for no reason. Once you visit Kashmir, you will also fall short of adjectives to describe it.
Srinagar – The capital of the Northern most Indian state. Famous for the Dal Lake, the Mughal Gardens (Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh, etc.), the Pari Mahal, just to name a few attractions that will make you come here again and again.
Sonmarg – Meadow of gold, located at the foot of mighty Zoji La that stands between the Kashmir valley and Ladakh region. It is surrounded by snowy mountains and famous for Thajiwas glacier, where you can either walk up to or take Ponies ride.
Once you have feasted your eyes with the breathtaking landscapes, there is more to have in the form of mouthwatering Kashmiri cuisine to satisfy your taste buds.
Once you cross the tough terrain of Zoji La, you enter the Ladakh region that has its own beautiful landscapes awaiting you to mesmerize you with their beauty. Ladakh is also known as “land of mountain passes”. Here you will come across world’s highest motor able roads.
Leh – The capital of Himalayan kingdom of Ladakh. Famous for the Leh Palace, various Buddhist temples (also known as Gompa), Monasteries, Shanti Stupa.
Khardung La – At well above 18,000ft from sea level, it is world’s highest motorable road. Located at around 40km’s from Leh, it is a must visit for anyone visiting Ladakh. It could be for the scenery or could be for experiencing how it feels at such a height where air is the thinnest most of us would every experience. This is the mountain that one needs to cross to reach the famous Siachen Glacier.
Nubra Valley – Nubra is a valley located to the north east of Ladakh valley. Diskit the capital of Nubra is about 150 km north from Leh town. The Shyok River which is a tributary of the Indus river meets the Nubra or Siachan River to form a large valley that separates the Ladakh and Karakoram Ranges. The common way to access this valley is to travel over the Khardung La pass from Leh town. Another place in this valley is Hunder which is the home to double humped camels and is the highest altitude desert in the world.
Pangong Tso – A 134km’s long lake (60% of which lies in Tibet) located at above 14,000ft is a must visit for its clear water that changes its color every moment, as the cloud keeps moving in the sky. One can easily spend an entire day sitting on the banks of lake without noticing about the time. The common way to access this lake is to travel over the Chang La pass from Leh town.
Nature has its own way to protect beauty via some obstacles, like roses with thorns, so for good part of year, the pristine beauty of Ladakh is disconnected from rest of world. When the roads do get open there is another set of challenges await the visitors, in terms of rough terrain and lack of oxygen due to high altitude. Still the beauty of the place attracts visitors towards itself again and again, regardless of the obstacles. We at LetsRide24x7 are committed to take all your worries and problems, and leave you all the time to enjoy the beautiful landscapes and just soak in the atmosphere. To have your visit to the crown of India, paradise on earth, a memorable one.
