It was friday night me and my wife started for our weekend trip in Coorg. We booked bus from anandrao circle, though the bus timing was 11pm but bus came at 1am. There are lots of bus service available to reach Madikeri from Bangalore. Its a overnight journey. We reached Madikeri in 4am. It was too early , i didn't expect that we would reach so early. I called the auto driver whose number I got from the home stay that we booked. He was sleeping and took one and half hour to come and pickup us.
It was moderately cool weather in the morning. After researching for few days I booked 4 C's Citrus Room from Airbnb which was 11 km far from Madikeri town in between of coffee estate. Its a very nice place to stay far from noise and in between nature. The whole day we laied back in the home stay and enjoy the nature.
Next day we planned for local sightseeing. We booked a cab(Maruti Omni) which was organised by our homestay owner for Madikeri town sightseeing , Abbey falls , Nisargdama and Dubare Elephant camp. The cab driver took Rs. 2000 for those places.
Nisargadam is nice place ,it is an island formed by river Kaveri near Kushalnagar. We did still water rafting in Dubare Elephant camp. And I didn't feel noting special at Abbey falls, may be because of summer season there was not much water in the falls.
The next day around 12'o clock we left the room and took returning bus from Madikeri which departures 4 pm as mention time. And back to bangalore at 11 pm.
The whole trip cost was around Rs 8000 for 2 person, including food, stay and travel with bus tickets from bangalore to madikeri and madikeri to bangalore. Note- We didn't visit Talkaveri and Monastery as we had been there before. It'll take one more day to cover those. You can easily manage all the places in 2 days.
