The unusual is the new surprise. I know we don't get to see a Maharashtrian Food Festival and a Mango Trail together. But, When we see; its better be Royale. The Orchid Hotel - Pune decided to celebrate our love for both Maharashtrain Food as well as Mangoes. And, Here it is, The Orchid Hotel Pune presents The Great Maharashtrian Food Festival and Mango Trail. The event features Varieties of Mangoes from all over Maharashtra and many more dishes that will make you go Wow!
I was recently invited to preview the full event and i can't resist to say that - Despite of mixing the two together, Orchid manages to have an individual stand for each. The ambiance itself stands out to make its own appeal. The door to the cart placed inside, The decorations of the table to the pretty dress codes for the mango vendor to the Vada-Pao wala, Orchid knows how to make it perfect.
The Mango Trail:-
As said earlier, The event features Varieties of Mangoes from all over Maharashtra. Although, The tasting platter had a amalgamation of mango flavors but what took my eyes away was a beautiful display of mangoes places right in-front of the entrance. The varieties of mangoes include Hapus, Langda, Badami, Kesar, Totapuri and many more. And, You'd rather let your man go than let go of a mango.
The Maharashtrain Food Festival:-
Orchid had an amazing spread of Maharashtrain Cuisines. I've been in Pune for 3 years now, and This event was a rejuvenation of all the tastes that had been subconsciously stuck in My Favorites folder of my brain. Orchid surely knows the game right.
A tasting platter was there for the same too. but it was not about the heart this time, It was all about the Stomach(Appetite) now.
Everything that was there, surely was one of a kind. The soups could not be unnoticed. And, The taste of the Non-Vegetarian Curries to the Soft Chapatis to go with, it all left a strong impression on my tongue and heart both.
I'm not a sucker for vegan food but the Vegetarian Spread was so orgasmic that i stuck to eat the BATATA CHI SUKHI BHAJI, lol. There were some Maharashtrian Pickles as well to add a tang to your tongue.
The desserts featured a lot of mango options and many of other flavors too. They were also placed right in-front of the entrance and were showcasing the elegance and beauty of every dessert placed right there.
Tried but couldn't resist, I ended up filling a plate full of Desserts for myself. And, They are all moved to My Favourites folder of my brain now.
