These are tough times. It's like our lives have suddenly hit rock bottom. Everything is at a stand still. And it's most painful to stay at home all the time for all us backpackers. Our body lies at home but our mind is wandering places and heart is praying all day for things to get back to normal so that we can get lost again in some far away world.
Even amidst all the 'stay home stay safe/strict no to travel/no fun at all' days, I am trying to keep my travel spirit high and keep finding new ways to travel from home. Not literally, but figuratively. After all, that travel spirit needs feeding. No option here guys.
Who said time machines haven't been invented?
The first and the foremost option and also the one pretty much followed by every globetrotter right now is getting immersed into past travel memories. I have been to many places before but I never had the time to actually reflect on the experiences I have had over the years. I went through all my past travel albums one by one reminiscing the good old days, going more closer to each moment, realising how I have grown as a person and how much my travels have contributed to it. We are so bogged down by the hustle-bustle of our daily lives that we never have the time to go through our own journey. Maybe these times gave us that luxury. Those albums that just lie in some corner of our laptops waiting endlessly for us to visit them, are no less than the time machines we all long for. You can travel to any time of your life by just one click. So what are you waiting for? Let's time travel.
Of all the ways to time travel, music is the best!
Music, sure as hell, takes you places. We love to travel to hear different types of music. Drives and music have a long history. A trip is incomplete if there's no good music to accompany you there. So why not resort to our old friend only in these times to keep up the travel goals. Just plug in your earphones and get lost in the world you want to be in. Here are some of my favourites tracks :
Sometimes, all you need is a tub of popcorn and a good flick!
Admit it, we love films. We all wanted to have a ride with 'Bagwati' when we we saw ZNMB. And our hearts skipped a beat when Ranbir said 'Me udna chahta hun, daudna chahta hun, girna bhi chahta hun, rukna nahi chahta'. It made us emotional as well as inspired us. And we were all in for single honeymoons with 'Queen'. After all, it was so fun. And we all danced our hearts out with Ranbir and Deepika on the beautiful lanes of mesmerising Corsica in 'Matargashti'. And last but not the least, we still can't over the Mumbai-Goa road trip with 'Dil Chahta Hai' triplets. Movies leaves an impression on us that stays with us forever. I am watching a few of these on repeat for travel inspirations. No night plan is better than dimmed lights, a tub of popcorn and a travel-filled flick. Go watch some!
And when nothing works, we can always Insta-stalk!
Instagram never disappoints. Lots of people sharing lots of travel stories. I can scroll for all day long and still they won't be over. It's so much fun to find such travel frenzy people like you all around the globe. There are so many accounts who constantly keep inspiring us to travel this beautiful earth and telling us that the list to explore is endless. So, go and do some insta-stalking today. You can start with our very own Tripoto Community. And if you like my posts, you can also follow and support me @preityyadav20.
Have you started bucket-listing already?
And the last and the most interesting option. Creating our bucket-list! Keep looking for places you have never been to, experiences you are yet to live, and the flavours you are yet to savour. Keep that 'plan it all' game on. Time will surely do what its best at, it will fly. And within no time we will be looking at our next travel ticket. Really hoping for that.
So, this sums up my ways of traveling from home. Looking forward for more ways from other fellow travellers too. Happy travelling everyone!
