(read the previous posts as this is a 7 part series)
Day 2 of the trek (day 3 on the trip) begins with this view!!
We were told that today will be relatively easy as the distance to cover is not that much!! Trust me it was sooo not easy. Reason being the terrain became more rough and wild and it was a continuous mildly steep ascend. The views were again spectacular but I couldn't wait to get to the next campsite Illaqa and just collapse. We started at around 9 am and reached the next campsite at around 1 pm. 4 hours but felt like 14!!
The biggest reward on this trail was witnessing the river water when we were close to the campsite. The bluest of blue I've ever seen. That color is etched in my mind for eternity; it was that beautiful. Just look at the shade in the pic below!!
This turned out to be the most peaceful day of the trip and perhaps my life as well. After settling in the tent, we headed out to the river, reached a flat rock and just spent hours there taking in the music of the rushing water, with sheep grazing in the background and that stunning sky being our shelter.
I'll let all the pictures do the talking for this post.
Stay tuned for day 4 on the trip...the day of the summit climb, hands down the most adventurous and thrilling day of my life!!
