Ok! I traveled.

I wondered.

And I'm still lost!

Last June, I traveled to Bhutan. The Dragon Country :)

Since it's already mid September, and I'm still in delusional holiday time - I thought to write about my experience out there. So, we were a gang of 16 people. One of my friends arranged this whole plan and decided to loop in friends for bike cum road trip. And me being me - always ready to travel at the drop of a hat was trill for such opportunity. :D

I thought to write a travelogue about it. Not exactly a travelogue, but things and stories that were interesting on the journey and which I thought to share it with world.

"Give me mountains, a pillion seat and trust me, I'm a happy person" :)

Initially, my journey started from Siliguri then Phuentsholing. I'm documenting my travelogue from Day 3. i.e. the day when we finally ventured in Bhutan. This trip was more of off road and travelling extensively in Bhutan than what the usual tourist plan is about.

Without wasting any time further, read about my first hand experience.

Cheers!

Day 3:

Today is the Day 3, of my Bhutan Trip. We were heading to Paro from Phuentsholing.

Below are the pics and memories, I have documented in my pillion seated ride.

Bhutan is;

Of the mornings when we woke up to the skies like these!

Bhutan skies were most of the time surrounded with clouds. But sometime pleasant, bright sky graced us.

The sun usually played hide and seek and the weather during June/July is extremely foggy, windy and drizzling. Go out there to witness monsoon, which we hardly celebrate in our day to day schedule.

Bhutan is about;

Signboards!

Meet our BRO writers. Whoever and whereever you are, you are awesome, Man. High five! :P

Bhutan is;

Of beautiful villages on the way.

Look at the structures, the color which is blending with the nature. This is one of the best things I have noticed about Bhutan. The villages are designed in a way that it is adapting to the nature rather vice versa. Can you see that dog over there. Just chilling.

Who doesn't need a life like that? I would love to just stop by and look around for hours end without any aim and glamour.

Bhutan is;

Of beautiful murals and art.

I spotted this just way ahead of the above village. A lovely way to introduce a college. And also a lovely way to start freshman years.

Bhutan is;

Of Swirling Ghopas (Prayer Wheel)

Just opposite to the college, there is this Prayer Wheel. Praying Wheels for us to pour our heart and dreams to the divine. :)

I spotted many praying wheels all over Bhutan. And I have also seen locals religious taking circle around the bell as a mode of communication with God. When in Bhutan, stop over these ghopas and whisk around. That's exactly what to do on holidays. Doing what locals do. :)

Bhutan is;

Of Gedu Village.

Finally the Sign Board of the above beautiful village.

:)

Bhutan is;

Of mystic clouds and unknown roads. A paradise maybe ;)

Bhutan is about;

Roads before the bridges and prater flags.

Photo of Bhutan by Mayuri

Can you see that tiny house built ahead? In every nook and corner of the bridges in Bhutan, I came across this little shelter. The water flows from it. Don't know the purpose behind it. Maybe because of faith. But this is common across Bhutan.

Bhutan is;

Of tiny little shelters (or maybe signifying praying place) built near bridges and rivers.

See this is what I'm talking about. What is this called? Any idea?

Bhutan is;

Of the roads which doesn't end.

Photo of Bhutan by Mayuri

I can literally spend my days in the pillion seat of a bike with my rider doing all the work of riding the bike and me just looking around the nature. :P I love watching the roads. Watching and staying curious about what will come ahead.

Also, speculating about the life ahead. Dreams and Aspiration.

You see I feel pillion seat is the best place in the whole world to dream. Just dream and not act upon it. No pressure to choose a road. Just dream with the eyes opened.

Sigh, that's life!

Bhutan is about;

Foggy roads.

Bhutan is about;

Of unpaved roads.

Roads with puddle, rock and life :)

Bhutan is;

Of cows sitting on roads. :D

Bhutan is all about love for animals. You can literally see animals, especially cows sitting on the highways all across Bhutan. Afternoon siesta, I believe?

Bhutan is;

Of some architectural gates and houses.

Bhutan is about;

Happy and fluffy dogs.

Bhutan is;

Of zig zag roads and greenery everywhere.

Trust me when I say this, Bhutan is treated for anyone who love green. Trees and Forest are the soul of Bhutan.

Bhutan is about;

Sitting randomly near mountains and taking photographs of sandals, because Yo! It's cool.

Bhutan is about;

Taking millions of nature photos and yet not being tired of it.

Photo of Bhutan by Mayuri

Sometime I wonder how nice it is for Bhutanese people to experience this nature each day of their life. Seriously, who needs money? A little philosophy is enough. :P

Bhutan is;

Of signboard trying to make us understand about the place.

Of lovely sight by the road.

While we human just looks at it in awe..

Bhutan is about;

Of beautiful homes built on a higher ground and the dog looking so bored.

Photo of Bhutan by Mayuri

I love this setting. Some houses are dreams. To live between flowers, wood and air is something life goal should be.

Bhutan is;

Of finally somewhere Paro signboard popping up :)
