Rank1 out of 1 attractions in Mandarmoni
When the locales saw so many red crabs crawling along the beach, it looked like a red mandar and thus the place was named Mandarboni which later became Mandarmani. This is a fast- growing sea resort in East Midnapore and on the Northern part of Bay of Bengal. The sea here is shallower than Digha and thus even better for swimming. The sea beach is a drive- in one and is the longest motorable beach of India. The place is a village and thus is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The views of casuarina and the sound of sea waves crashing the shore are blissful. The main activities you can enjoy here are swimming, cricket, tennis, boat cruises and others. There are also a number of holiday resorts just on the beach. The village is connected to Kolkata via a highway and buses are always available from the city if you wish to travel by public transport.

Mandarmani :A 13 km long motorable beach , probably the longest motorable beach in India. Sea , Sun, Sand , sea Shell you have it all here. Resorts are all lined up very close to the beach making your stay here one of the most memorable vacations. This beach looks oh so enigmatic during a full moon light , or during the sunrise and the sunset. I highly recommend to spend a night here at Mandarmani. There is tranquility and serenity floating in the air of Mandarmani.

RANCHI-KOLKATA-MANDARMONI Tired of the hustle-bustle of the Capital, my heart craves to visit places that are seldom touched by human presence and are still as beautiful as the image of such a place in your head. So, who doesn’t like beaches? Sit by the beach side in a shack sipping drinks, listening to the waves, slowly drifting in a chain of thoughts… Thoughts you did not have time to venture to in your busy life. Mandarmoni. Longest drivable beach in the country. It is in WestBengal and a neighbour of the famous beach Digha. Recommended by a senior at my college, and having never been to a beach before, i decided to pack my bags and check it out with a girl friend. Super excited! We took a train from Ranchi to Kolkata and then a volvo bus from Kolkata to Mandarmoni. We stayed for 3 days at a hotel alongside the beach and the entire trip including the tickets, hotel , food, water sports etc was covered under 10k!
If you ask me, this is my most favorite weekend getaway. The beauty of this beach is that all the resorts face the sea. It's like you are staying on the shore. At night, the sea comes close to the resort gate. At night, I can sit forever on the resort lawns and stare at the roaring sea.
