Arlington National Cemetery
From there we visited the Arlington National Cemetery. And again, what a somber moment. Americans are truly proud of their country and you can feel it wherever you go around the States. When we arrived at the cemetery, it was “the changing of guard” at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The guard is changed every hour on the hour Oct. 1 to March 31 in an elaborate ritual.
Garden of Morning Calm
Address 432, Sumogwon-ro, Sang-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do 경기도 가평군 상면 수목원로 432 (상면) Prettiest and biggest garden I've been to till today. I found a quiet spot up a climb where very little people actually go to and had my lunch on a bench. It was so quiet I could reflect and submerge myself in this serenity. The breeze and the cool air made me feel like I was in the best place ever. I love solo trip but this is one place I wish I could bring everyone I know so they can enjoy this beautiful place. I actually wish I could build a small cottage up there so no one could disturb me. Okay, I think I might have went a little too far but this is one place I urge you to squeeze in your itinerary *Petite France, Garden of Morning Calm and Nami Island have a specific shuttle bus which you can buy a single ticket and move to all 3 stops from just outside Cheong Pyeong station.
27 Bunk House Road
The Palawan Butterfly Garden is a great place to walk around for a couple of hours. The garden, about twenty minutes outside the main area of the city, is attached to a small cottage and houses butterflies native to Palawan and other areas of Southeast Asia. I hopped on a tricycle outside Lotus Garden and paid a small fare for the trip. Once arriving at the garden, the entry fee was a little over $1 U.S. I enjoyed walking around and taking a look at all the beautiful fluttering creatures. I held a butterfly and even had the opportunity to hold a scorpion (supposedly its poison had been removed, but I don't know). It was a great little day trip.
Charleston restaurant vet Craig Delhi opened Cypress to showcase his love of traditional Southern ingredients and cooking techniques. His menu is shamelessly meat focused, with 80 different charcuteries cured in house along with plump crab cakes, chicken and dumplings, and a crispy guinea hen confit with Korean style shrimp fried rice. The wine cellar, with more than 4,500 bottles, has a strong emphasis on New World reds and Central European whites.
