Best things to do in Ahmednagar and sightseeing in Ahmednagar

This is a city in the same district of Ahmednagar and this forms the district headquarters too. The name of this hostorical city was given after the Nizam Ahmed Shah. He was the one who built this city in the 15th century after replacing the previous one which was known as Bhingar. Ahmednagar has a rich history and this is also the place known to be the origin of the Nizams. It was here that the Bahmani Sultanate broke up and the Nizam formed his own dynasty known as the Nizam Shahi Dynasty. The fort here was earlier used by the British to house Indian Delegates such as Jawaharlal Nehru and others. The former Prime Minister is said to have started his famous book "The Journey of my Life" from this place. This is still a seat of the Armoured Military of India. The Ahmednagar Fort is the most famous attraction here and this includes a number of other monuments and palaces inside the same campus. The Chand bibi Castle is another popular attraction here.

Konkan Kada - Ahmednagar

The konkan Kada is a high point and a part of the Harishchandragad Fort. This point is a challenge for trekkers and also what they love to achieve. Known for its height and might, this is surrounded by the peaks of Rohidas, Taramati and harishchandra. The Taramati Peak is the highest. If you are lucky enough and your timing is correct, you can also catch the sight of lions and cheetahs from the top of Konkan Kada. The views of Malshej Ghat, Kalsubai, Nane Ghat, Jivdhan and others are beautiful.
Just at a distance of few feet, there erects the reason for this hard-earned trekking to Harishchandragad, the Konkan kada. After much meandering through the trails, Konkan Kada is a rugged architectural mould of nature, an overhanging cliff overlooking the Konkan valley with an awe-inspiring view of the Sahyadris. Its conclave structure is about 4000ft. in height that dominates a deep pit in which the clouds are sucked in and are thrown vertically into the sky. The fog and the clouds complement each other creating a vision, which is simply idyllic.

Tolar Khind - Ahmednagar

Also known as the Tolar Valley this is just adjachent to the hill on which the Harishchandragad Fort is located. Since this is a very hight hill, trekkers find a lot of importance over here and their trekking route starts from the Tolar Valley. This is a lush green valley with a lot of trees and a number of residential options too.
Tolar Khind redefined for me a forgotten charm of nature that was so overwhelming; it has power to leave anyone breathless. It brought to life some of the stunning imageries of Baggins’s excursion from J. R.R. Tolkien’s The hobbit and The lord of the rings and the fact that i’m comparing this to what was framed in the movies justified the miracle of this place that is mother nature.
