This place is good enough for sunset and sunrise view. One gets to get the view of almost all that there is to see in matheran, mainly, the lakes, the dam, borgaon etc. Trekking or horse riding is the only two ways to get there.

Charlotte Lake - Matheran

Charlotte Lake, also spelt as ‘Sharlott Lake'is one of the extremely most magnificent and graphic places found in the beauteous city of Matheran, positioned 1 KM from Matheran. The angelic Charlotte Pond seems extremely ostentatious and gorgeous particularly in damp season. Furnishing since the prime source of normal water for Matheran and the surrounding location, the Charlotte Pond also exerts as probably the most salient and important picnic spot of the Slope Resort. An traditional and archaic forehead dedicated to Master Pisarnath lies to the best of the river as the 2 most distinguished vantage points Echo Stage and Louisa Stage flank the Charlotte Pond on their left.
We did river crossing, and played a lot in lake water. As it was raining, this place added more fun.

One Tree Hill Point - Matheran

This is a bit tucked away if compared with the other attractions in Matheran. This is a hill point from where you get very nice views just like other places. You can hire a pony and take a ride till here. The only problem is that you are not allowed to climb the hill and the views become a little guarded when standing downhill. You can also do valley crossing for better views at a cost of Rs 250 per person.
On a Narrow Path that leads to this point, we dint make the effort to Climb up to the tree as the path that led was slippery. And with Strong winds Blowing, one could see stars in day light if he made any efforts. I Suggest don't try to Be Daredevil. Cool Point, With narrow path and Zip Line Adventure (charges Rs. 250/- per person) as a attraction this point will give you a coolest view the Ghat.

On the top of the hill can be seen a single tree of Jambhul standing all by itself. This forms the great cynosure for the travelers. Also this is the place to have the great respite from the rat race of daily city life. The ladder that leads to this spot is called as Shiva Ji’s ladder. Descent is hilarious. The discovery of this path is credited to Hugh Poyntz Malet. The walk through the road known as Shivaji’s ladder, going down from the hill to the plain is really a great experience. It is a good train fro trekkers. It is believed that the path was discovered by a British collector to Thane, Hugh Poyntz Malet. The surroundings are cool and calm. One can get a relaxed feeling while spending the pleasure times here. From the one tree hill point one can get eye feasting views of scenic spots such as tent hill and Chowk village.

Charlotte Lake Road - Matheran

There is a lake and reservoir named Charlotte Lake and this is the main attraction here. You can try some zip- zapping activity here. In this you have to move on a rope above the lake. There are also a few eateries around where you can hangout for some snacks. Other than these there is a forest nearby where you can go for walking trails amidst the thick greenery and soothing surroundings. This is a personal favorite of many tourists and they love walking here more than sitting by the lake.
The first point we took was to Charlotte Lake. You can see a dam releasing water from this point making a water fall and further becoming a lake down below. The water level is not too high, at the time of rain, additional fall comes into existence as told by the locals.

Matheran Eco-sensitive Hill Station - Matheran

It was a quick one night trip to perceive the cooling weather on the hills of matheran, an escape from the boiling temperatures of mumbai life. Journey began on bike and a feeling of contend was achieved when we all could make it through the steep ghats to and fro with luggage. Steep ghats were succesfully taken care of my not so professional riders giving me an experience of how it feels back to life after making it through difficult sloppy roads in an insecured ride plan. Riders has not only made a safe journey but gave me an experience to remember to look forth for some more unsafe adventure.

A sceluded area, which is even out of the list of the bundle horsemen, this place provides beautiful views of the surrounding valleys. This is a small place and it should literally be avoided after dark due to the scarcity of people as well as transport options.
