Best things to do in Pokhara and sightseeing in Pokhara

Phewa Lake - Pokhara

The Phewa lake is 'grand' to say the least; Good as much to walk up as it is to relax. The lakeside street is one of the happening areas in town I'm sure, with good options to stay put and to unwind. Tourists milling all over, this again is pretty much the 'touristy' part of the town, and looks forever alive ! Stroll around, have a few beers by the lake and party until midnight ( Check out 'busy bee'; It's not hard to find ! ). During the day, head out to the various view points ( The most famous being Sarangkot ), or indulge in adventure ( rafting, flying, trekking ! ) .... Pokhara is smaller than Kathmandu, but a much quieter and a more sparsely populated place to put up !

The crown of Pokhara. The little valley of Pokhara is a glimpse of Europe. The clean city on the bank of the blue waters of the lake. Surrounded on one side by lush green forests, home of the leopard and on the other side by snow capped peaks! Not to mention the cosy cafe and food joints! As if all this is not enough you get wine at NPR 150 in the happy hours with free popcorn!!

Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave - Pokhara

The inside of the cave is slippery and you must mind your steps. In the tourist season a rush is not unexpected. However the walk is worth taking since at the end you get to see the amazing view of daylight streaming in through an elongated natural crack which is the other side of a waterfall!

Trek-O-Tel - Pokhara

Pokhra is a beautiful hill station in Nepal. We landed in Kathmandu on 3rd Sept. We hired a taxi from Kathmandu to Pokhra. It takes 6-7 hrs to reach. We stay at Trek-o-Tel hotel. It was very close to Pehwa lake also known as Pokhra lake. The view of lake from my hotel room was awesome. I took the Indian Thali in my dinner. Next day on 4th oct. we went for trekking at Sarangkot. From the top of Sarangkot, I saw the beautiful mountains covered with snow. At 5 AM we saw the Sun coming from behind the hill. It was amazing. Then we saw Devi fall, Caves, temples etc. At evening we went for boating in Pehwa lake.
