How I got Leh'd suddenly Prologue "The man who goes alone can start today; but he who travels with another must wait till that other is ready." - Henry David Thoreau "Traveling - it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller." - Ibn Battuta "Job fills your pocket, travel fills your soul""A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles." - Tim Cahill "No place is ever as bad as they tell you it's going to be." - Chuck Thompson A dream that was far-fetched since 2013 due to the poor-pocket college days, appeared to be coming true on June 4th; when I was speaking to my dad that evening and said that I'll be leaving to Leh-Ladakh in June end and he says "No, if you want to go, go now itself.. the later you leave, the more work you'll be stalling in office"....

An unforgettable Road trip to Leh Ladakh: Exploring it the Raw Way
12 days in 12 k in ladakh
We reached jispa around 10 pm and hitched a mountaineering dormitory for our night stay to get acclimatize to the altitude, this day was a mixed experience but overall nice without being aware what is waiting for us the next day. to begin on the note why my title starts with 2 mirrors, there is a thief in jispa who steal mirrors of bikes, cars and he is stealing a lot in the last few months so the next morning we geared up reached 5 kms ahead of jispa and came to realize that we don't have mirrors,we were in a lot of shock and we returned to the dorm started interrogating the incharge and whole scene got created over there ;I blindly trusted the honesty of himachal but the world is changing pretty quick I guess ,there was a very heated argument with the locals;Anyways we informed the police assistance and carried on towards leh so that we don't ruin our time as it was getting late the treacherous part starts now we had already wasted 2 hours in that incident and there came the blissfull roads with their own taste. We were carrying on towards our magical journey and then came the 11 streams of glacier water bottomed by huge slippery stones ,we got through them ;this was the first test and then came zing zing bar and the mighty baralacha and my friend got an attack of AMS(altitude mountain sickness) ,we wanted to reach pang that day but could not make it ;we somehow managed to reach sarchu he got seriously ill i gave him a diamox(med for ams) with some glucose , iwas too breathing heavily we took a halt at sarchu in a tent(500rs),he fell asleep soon after ,i ate some maggi, bread omelete and also went to sleep. This day was real test for us sense of hopelessness and many other things piled up but we got through. so began our final 250 kms with lots of hours wasted in the morning ,my friend got better with some honey lemon tea and we decided to continue ;these 250 kms were the most cherished ones through himank border ,gata loops, upshi, karu, pang we reached leh finally;the stretches were a little more curvy in this part through deserty terrains but the road from pang till upshi was breathtaking a huge thanks to indian army and border roads org for that;the tarcoal roads as smooth to ride an enfield over 100 gives you goosebumps;we stayed in otsal restaurant in leh it was a good one and a kind of homestay with 600rs per day what else you need. friend got better in leh after some beers and butter chicken;this day we decided to explore whole of leh the market, shanti stupa and khardungla which was 40 kms from leh ,as we got more acclimatize we did not feel the air pressure and reaching to the highest motorable pass was some sense of achievement, actually reaching leh is not that important but this journey is amazing and will you speechless spellbound and i do not have any word porn left, we took a good nap in the hotel as the next day obviously was booked for pangong. this day was booked for pangong and to tell you reaching pangong is another journey soulfully different than reaching leh via manali,we had already covered all the highest passes of india but pangong is about another 200 kms from leh which will leave your back paining after 6 days of rigorous biking reaching pangong is alot tiresome and takes a hell lot of time but when you get the first glimpse of the lake your tiredness fades away and you can watch pangong changing its colours through the clouds and sun all day, i suggest a night stay is must. after spending the farewell night to leh the next morning we headed towards darcha and this time we knew the roads better so we reached quickly on our round trip on the return covering almost 350kms. we reached manali the next afternoon around 2pm after spending a night in darcha in a small cafe tent with some algerians .MANALI TO LEH can be summed up as one of the the most thrilling, arduous, treacherous, magical journey through virgin mountains untouched by any civilization, high altitude terrains with low on oxygen,a must in everybody's bucketlist ,it will forever change the free soul inside you;these 1600 kms on a royal enfield were the most cherished ones in my life.what else can i say- I LOVE NOT MAN THE LESS BUT NATURE MORE.PERIOD....

Solo cycling trip manali to Leh ,ladakh And Khardungla pass 2018 - mountains calling
Hello everyone, this is yuvraj singh harsana a bike commuter recently started going for long distances I love and cherish diversity inside and outside me, that's how it started so It was month of June 2018 just like everybody I was also into my iPhone spending hours on travel websites to get a great deal or package after detailed checking for everything what they were offering was a good for fun lover people but my approach was little different perhaps entirely different so I stumbled on a blog about cycling manali to leh this was exactly I wanted to do so I just started listing down all the things I should take along with me after I was all set I had 3 bags weigh 15 kg my weight 65 my cycle weight 18 kg. almost 100 kg ready to travel 500km in 7 days Day 1 I got down from the bus at manali bus stand around 6 in morning did not sleep last night assembled all the bags wore my helmet had 2 bananas and all set for the journey I met a group of Buddhist pilgrims they were heading towards leh , sun was dropping fireballs I lost my cycling gloves so my hands got burn it was my first reality cheack, around 2 in noon I reached marhi amazing place weather took a sudden shift it started raining so I decided to halt at marhi I stayed there in army camp they did not give me permission to take a single photo but it was fun being with them. stayed at keylong i wanted to start early so quickly i had parathas in breakfast and wrapped up a slice of sandwich and headed up for rohtang pass reached in 3 hours it was amazing downhill from rohtang for some miles and worst downhill road too just before koskar I stopped for a snack break and resumed till sissu near sissu I had lunch I met mohan a guy with guitar after the lunch I couldn’t resist I sung a song till I went offbeat after a little fun time I cud not stop my peddling till keylong I had to make a call this was the only place where i could get mobile network , I reached keylonaround 6 pm I stayed in reasonable hotel newly opened they made an amazing butter paneer masala and I did not even take off my shoes I just slept on bed with surya namashkar position. stayed at lower zing zing bar I woke up early had my paratha and black tea and headed for jispa the landscape was so amazing I was totally into mountains nice sunny day added an extra charm to it as the road comes to the level of river I started off road cycling to the beautiful river side I sat there for an hour just to gaze the immortal mountains topped with white shiny ice I got my water bottle filled with natural spring and halted at government school at jispa I met some amazing kids the perfect incentive for me from my trip as I moved ahead i saw out of nowhere there were two 3 year old twins were on the road I cud not stop myself I had to hold them both even though they seemed heavier than me this time I had no chocolates bananas was the only alternative to offer them after crossing jispa and patsio I reached at lower zing zing baar there was a dhaba I took a black tea from the unty she was so lovely she invited me for the dinner and arranged a place for me to spend a night it was freezing cold in night stayed at sarchu In morning I heard a voice from outside of my tent bhaiya bhaiya untie's daughter she came to woke me up and offered me a black tea after having the Maggie and bread in breakfast it was the photo time when I was all set to go seema unty came to and said sir please come next time for month as family not as a customer It was getting little heavy for me I said of course and started peddling , baralacha pass was waiting for me I enjoyed it most and reached in the giant sarchu one of the best landscape one this planet I reached there around 2 pm I spend my 3 hours just to take some pictures and talking to army person and yes of course off road cycling it was literally freezing cold and stormy evening in sarchu temperature was minus 15 i had already found a home stay brother raju facilitated me razai after razai for making me warm. stayed at wisky nala As I entered in the jammu and kashmire game has changed so the rules but the player was the same the landscape became so beautiful and barren no vegetation and water springs this time call from nakeela pass through the ghata loops 21 loops up hill windy day sun was on full throttle and I was having an extra bottle of water this time when I crossed 21 loops still I had to cycle 5 km to nakeela pass this was the only time I had to give an extra ordinary effort to make it around 2 pm I reached at wisky nala after a small downhill from nakeela pass I met brajesh uncle his home stay was amazing best dinner I have ever had in my life I had to kiss his magical hands besides my tent paul a guy from Canada was coming from leh to manali solo cycling, brajesh uncle called him over tea we sat talked about sociology and other family stuffs. stayed at dibiring i was just opening my eyes in morning saw outside my tent snow-falling I sat outside the tent with cup of black tea in my hand for a while after a picture time with poul and brajesh uncle, we started our journey In opposite directions this time lachungla pass was calling me I made lachungla around 12 noon and crossed pang and reached the greatest of all time the one and only more plains it was the cloudy weather so I just sat there for an hour made some videos hoping for sun to come out and magic happened just for a while so I was cycling on one of the highest 45 km plain seeing the widest and mind blowing landscapes of the earth, towards the end of the more plain I stopped at the dibiring found a home stay there was uncle rosha made Maggie for me I had an exhaustive day and amazing sleep too. stayed at leh I woke up late around 10 am I saw snow falling again I was so excited about the tangangla pass I made tangangla pass around 3 pm initially I was planning to stay at upsi but then something happened I had this idea to reach leh in same day I calculated it was possible only when i can do peddling phenomenally fast and continuously, i crossed karu I crossed lato I crossed hemis and I reached leh late night 11.30 pm I rod 160 km in single day including the world second highest motor-able pass arguably (because chine made world's second highest recently)It was the beauty of nature and people who lives there that kept me craving to explore some of worlds best landscapes in the world. after reaching leh i met a guy name neema (meaning sun) who helped me to get a hotel room solely it was impossible for me because in summers vacation in India leh became the hottest tourist spot, before closing my eyes I had this feeling do I really belong in this game I just pondered my wander lust increased I was feeling high and I decided tomorrow is KHARDUNGLA Pass....
