Travel Guides and trips for backpacking sri lanka

The tiny country of Sri Lanka, hanging like a jewel in the Indian Ocean, rarely disappoints those who travel through its landscapes. But for centuries, this gorgeous nation was hiding in plain sight. It was only in 2009, when Sri Lanka ended its 26-year long civil war, that this small gem of a country found its way on to travellers' itineraries. But even tsunamis and years of war were not been able to ravage the tropical isle of its spectacular landscapes, abundant wildlife and endless beaches. Everyone who has seen it once now aches to go back. Travellers rave about its timeless ruins, the country’s 2000-year old culture, scenic train rides, trekker-friendly rainforests,perfectly-manicured tea plantations, delicious tea, flavourful food and the contagiously-friendly locals who go far and beyond to show you hospitality that you'll remember for years after.

Carry good, durable helmets before embarking on the trip.VisaYou can apply for a 30-day visa online, which is valid for a month from the date of arrival, but an extension can be obtained for up to six months.
