This tourist hot spot happens to be the highest village in the Sangla valley region and lies to the right of the River Baspa. Beyod Chitkul lies the Great Himalayas that lead one into the forbidden tracts of the land of Tibet. This place happened to lie along the ancient trade route between India and Tibet and this is evident from the race of people that inhabit the place and the kind of jewelry that they wear on them. A little past Chitkul is the last Indian outpost at Nagasthi and civilians are not allowed to set foot there. This place is extremely beautiful and is a treat to ones senses. There are about three temples here that are dedicated to the Goddess Mathi.
