Rajasthan has done a great job of showcasing its heritage via its arts and crafts. Every main city on the tourist map has a place where one can experience local performing arts, buy handmade products by the state's residents and also sample the great Rajasthani cuisine. In Jaipur, we headed to Chokhi Dhani on our last evening here, to party in the way locals do! The few hours we spent there were full of folk treasures, excellent food and great bargains. Don't miss this if you have time to party like the locals do! Here's a photo journey...
Coming here and not taking the most gorgeous looking dupattas (stole) is a sin my friends. Rajasthani markets are famous for all the colors, and that's exactly what you see once you are around. I had a long list of things to bring back home by my mother. :pTrust me, it is very difficult to stop yourself from buying such beautiful stuff at so affordable prices. And a word of caution - this is the place you display all the bargaining skills in the world, or else you will regret big time. You can certainly add a lot more places in your trip. If falling in love is something you have never experienced, then come here. It's time! :)
There is no doubt that Jaipur is the ultimate destination for those who love shopping. Whether it is expensive mall shopping or the affordable street one, Jaipur has it all. Where the latter is concerned, Johari Bazaar is a must thing to do in Jaipur. The bazaar stretches for almost 405 kilometers and is famous for home furnishings, clothing, handicrafts, traditional jewelry, decorative items and a lot more. You can also expect to get some beautiful sarees in tie and dye as well as bandhani. Mojaris and traditional, local perfumes are also available here. Do not forget to bargain, as there is a lot of scope! Do not forget to try kulfi when here!
World Trade Park Pvt. Ltd
Also known as the Paradise of the Pink City, World TRADE Park is actually the business hub of Jaipur. It is a special look out if you are lucky enough to be in the city during Diwali. The lights and designs of the mall here during this time in enthralling. According to locals as well as regular tourists, this is one of the best places to shop till you drop! Though a little costlier, you will get the trendiest stuff in World Trade Park which makes it a must places to see in Jaipur. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants here as well for those who want to take a good food break.
Among the very renowned malls on Jaipur, one that cannot be missed out is Gaurav Towers. This is quite a popular hangout among the locals and a sure shot visit if you have plans of some expensive shopping. You can also expect a showcase of lot of tradition here in the traditional clothes available all throughout the shops. The décor, the lights and the charisma of the place is worth every moment you plan to spend here. Overall, an experience that is memorable and fun.
