Igloo Cafe: The new tourist attraction in town!
Igloo Café at Kashmir’s Gulmarg has become the center of attraction for the people visiting the Valley. The café, built of snow is county’s first and Asia’s biggest Igloo Café which is located at the ski resort here. The one-of-a-kind experience of an ice restaurant is winning the hearts of visitors.
The igloo, 26 feet around and 15 feet high, holds four tables with enough room for 16 guests. The décor is quite impressive with each snow slab covered with sheepskin to keep the guests warm and comfy.
The media reported the Manager as saying, "We wanted to serve our guests in a unique way and the idea of doing something dramatic for our guests and patrons has worked. It has attracted a large number of tourists and this new attraction has become a selfie point in Gulmarg."
It took workers around 15 days to build this Igloo and they used around 300 days in terms of labor. The tables and the benches are all made of ice.
