Catch the onset of the winter in the pristine Meghalaya, as you enjoy crystal clear night skies and the cool early winter nights over unlimited cups of the lesser explored Orthodox Meghalaya Tea!
There are lots of places in the northeast that are really beautiful when it’s all rainy and misty. Meghalaya is my pick for a couple of good reasons–despite my heart always belonging to Sikkim. (Sorry, Sikkim!) The first is that Cherrapunji, in Mawsmai village, East Khasi Hills, is the wettest place on the planet. So if you’re going to experience that, you should make the most of it. Go during monsoons and see just how wet it can be! Nohsngithiang Falls (315 metres, segmented waterfalls) will also be at its most majestic. If you’re up for a monsoon trek, you should go to Nongkhnum island and do the ten kilometres to Langshiang Falls (337 metres), too. If you don’t want to drive or trek around, just stay in Shillong and enjoy how green, fresh and cosy everything becomes.
Meghalaya has plenty of surprises for anyone with a trusty motorcycle or a rickety rented one.
Meghalaya, known as the abode of clouds, is actually quite famous for its gorgeous waterfalls and valleys. I am not kidding when I saw that if you visit this place after monsoon, you will literally find a waterfall in every 10 km.
But that's not all. Apart from being the home to numerous waterfalls, this place is also known to have some of the most beautiful waterfalls in entire India. Be it Krang Shuri in Jowai or Nohkalikai in Cherrapunjee, Meghalaya is a paradise for waterfall lovers.
Meghalaya Travel Blogs

“We set out to see Cherrapunji itself, a beautiful lush green place, a green like no other, constantly washed anew there isn’t a speck of dust and the entire landscape. It feels like it has been recently laundried! We headed first towards the Bangladesh viewpoint, a high cliff on the mountains from where the plains of Bangladesh are visible, as and when the rolling clouds leave you and you can see into the distance.”

“We headed to Mawlynnong which earned itself as a Cleanest Village in Asia. In village one can endlessly walk, however this is something that we never tired off and enjoyed every bit of it with mesmerizing view of flowers lanes, plants, trees with butterflies and birds. Got to learn some soccer skills with local kids, they are a treat to watch. This place definitely is God’s Own Garden.”
