The route along with distance between the subsequent places is as follows: Diskit – Khalsar (19 KMs) – Agham (31 KMs) – Tangyar (11 KMs) – Wari La(28 KMs) – Tathok (25 KMs) – Sakti (4 KMs) – Chang La (34 KMs) – Durbuk (32 KMs) – Tangste (9 KMs) – Lukung (34 KMs) – Spangmik (16 KMs) = 243 KMs Do not attempt this route in early season because, first it might not be open being low on priority for BRO and second roads are not stabilized in early season....

.:) :O we had road blocks on the way because of ice deposit....long ques to wait ....for our Car to move.....but since everything happens for a reason we also got a good reason to click some more pictures in the ice :)....local people have been doing a great job ...helping each other..all vehicles to clear and crossing Agham and Khalsar along the Shyok River we found our way and reached #Diskit "A 600 year old monastery " where Buddhist people have made a beautiful temple of#MaitreyaBuddha statue which is the landmark of Nubra Valley holding white lotus in both her hands and it is presumed that Tara will be the next avatar of Buddha..its a 33 mtr high statue facing Pakistan is known as a symbol of peace ....after visiting the temple we went to the actual monastery.... and got fainted after looking at the route map :P ;) there were almost 400 ancient style staircase to climb and reach the#Kalimandir...holding our breath and hands together.....we started with the first set of staircase and climbed till the end even after the temple also......thought why to leave them.........
