Trips and Itineraries for Baba Budangiri
Top Places To Visit in Baba Budangiri 57 Spots
This is the highest peak of Karnataka and is a part of the Babu Budhan Giri Range in the District of Chikmagalur. There is a small Shiva Temple on top of this hill and that point is the highest point of the state. The Mullayanagiri is perfect for hiking and it is higher than the Nilgiris but lower than the Himalayas. The views from top of the mountain with cool air brushing your face is a very nice feeling and worth all the difficulty you will face to climb the mountain.
Kemmangundi is situated on the way to Chikkamagalur from Tarikere route. It offers ample no. of sight seeing spots & adventure to the tourists. It took us a ~10 Kms off-road stretch to reach the main view point (following the direction sign board on road). Although it was partially dark by that time, the view was breathtaking. When you reach the edge of the cliff, you feel like this is the definite way to heaven.
About Baba Budangiri
Here too you trek for some 2 hrs to reach the peak. Baba Budan giri, or Rajendra Hill, is a rich reservoir of iron ore, and that lends a distinctive shade to the mountain. There are not many trees on this hill. It is mainly made up of grass and shrubs, giving it an aura of being endless in space and time. The wind atop the hill almost makes you feel as if you are flying. The far and wide view from the peak brings a sudden closeness with the Creator. This is a place you feel completely one with nature.
