BONE BREAKING IN DUBAIWith an advice from fellow comedians on censoring my content for the Dubaiaudience, I landed in the city two days before my show and decided to go sightseeing. A friend suggested that we attempt dune bashing because adventure sports are way more macho than visiting an aquarium. It was all fun and games until my quad-bike flew off a dune and crashed, causing a fracture in one wrist and a bone dislocation in the other. So even before I could water down my jokes, my bones were already broken. Still, I made quite a fashion statement by wearing a black suit with crepe bandages on both my wrists.

Burj Khalifa - Downtown Dubai - Dubai - United Arab Emirates
2. Setting the stage at Dubai Opera – The curtain is soon to rise on the city’s very own opera house. The architecturally iconic dhow – shaped building is ready to host an impressive line up of stellar performances
Burj Khalifa - Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard - Downtown Dubai - Dubai - United Arab Emirates
This should be on every travelers to do list not because its like really fancy and all but because its truly an architectural marvel- it takes you less that 10 seconds to reach the top and skip 123 floors and I guess an airplane takes longer than that to reach that height. Another tip here- Make your reservation for the 124th floor in advance and the ticket will be cheaper. I got it for 125 Dirhams (INR 2400) through a company called Rayna tours and make sure you carry your passport. Being as irresponsible as I am, I forgot it as I was trying to keep it safe at the hostel and had to use my Desi tactics of “Bhaiya Please” to make them let me go in :P .
Bur Dubai - Dubai - United Arab Emirates
So aided by the map, I decided to delve into the history next and took a cab to the Dubai Museum, Thankfully it wasn’t a traditional museum with weapons and shells in glass boxes but they had actually tried to recreate history with life –sized people and shown the occupation and culture with moving figures.
The Dubai Mall - Downtown Dubai - Dubai - United Arab Emirates

Dubai Marina - Dubai - United Arab Emirates
Dubai Marina is a man-made marina — a man-made canal city which is the home of the world’s tallest block of super skyscrapers. Princess Tower – currently the world’s tallest residential building is also here. However, Pentominium Tower, when finished, will de-throne Princess Tower. Feast yourself with tall buildings in Dubai Marina and if you have time and budget, dine-in in the many restaurants in the area. Being here reminds me of Singapore. To get to Dubai Marina, take the Metro Train Red Line and get off at Dubai Marina Station or Nakheel Station. It’s on the right hand side.
Mullankolly (മുള്ളൻകൊല്ലി) - الشارقة - الإمارات العربية المتحدة
After a pleasant drive alternating through the dense forests and infinity stretching paddy fields we finally reached Jincy's. We had just begun to let the beauty of the house sink in when Aunty got us some freshly prepared kashayam using krapooravalli leaves just plucked from her backyard. Let me tell you! They work magic on your sore throats in no time at all.Jincy took me for a short walk through her garden and the plantations in her backyard. There was no single spice we missed on starting from pepper, cardamom,Cinamon to even vanilla and cocoa. I had a chance to taste some mulberry from the tree before the silkworms could. The traditional built of houses in Kerala are quite a catch. The peculiar wooden hedge and the tiled roofs with a triangular arch are enough to make a Kerala house stand out distinctly.

Dubai International Airport - Dubai - United Arab Emirates
Some of the biggest brands sit comfortably at Dubai T3. Similar to most malls in cities like Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, during the festive season of Ramadan and Eid, the airport transforms into a hotbed of interesting takeaways. You can fly out of the airport with the keys of a luxury car or better still as a millionaire. If you’re not lucky at the raffles, treat yourself to a handsome deal on gadgets and gizmos at the electronics store. dubaiairports.aeSCHIPHOL AIRPORT, AMSTERDAM

Smooth icy flooring open for you to go skate & dance your heart out, sounds like it’s straight out of the movies? Now that’s exactly what the Dubai Ice Rink has to offer you.I remember taking Roller Skating lessons as a kid, about a decade and a half ago. But my ice skating experience was nothing like that! It was my first time at the Ice Rink, anywhere in the world, even though this was my second visit to Dubai. I always found it fancy and inspiring the way some people can effortless dance on the ice with these Ice Skates on!It was time for me to give it a shot! But wait! I did not know ice-skating…Thanks to the amazing support staff at the Dubai Ice Rink, ice-skating won’t remain an aspirational activity if you’re set to go and try!I got my skating gear on- socks, skates, helmet and a penguin (to be my support) and got right there into the ice rink to take my ice-skating lessons! My 9 year old brother who also tried ice-skating for the first time did exceptionally well by getting rid of the penguin or any kind of support by half time! Mom and I did fairly well, we almost got there but it was time up for our session!

The yiny islands, along with the Palm Jumeirah archipelago were formed as a plan to increase the coast line of Dubai to offer tourists more sun, surf and sand. An engineering marvel, the Islands are home to famous celebrities such as Tom Cruise, David Beckham and Shah Rukh Khan. It is a pleasant and soothing ride to these islands in the lap of the sea. With windows rolled down and mild wind playing with your hair, a trip to these archipelagos is a good way to spend half the day, most preferably the evening when the sun is mellow.

Mall of the Emirates - Al Barsha - Dubai - United Arab Emirates
Day 1: I landed in Dubai late afternoon and was too tired to have a long adventurous day so I decided to check out Mall of Emirates. It was my first experience of luxury Dubai has to offer. It was an amazingly beautiful mall with a ski area (reminded me of Mt.Titlis in Switzerland) and had tons of options for shopping and food. High point of the day: Kissed a penguin (obviously under the supervision of a high talented penguin trainer) at Ski Dubai.
Dubai Miracle Garden - Arjan-Dubailand - Dubai - United Arab Emirates
This passage is very colorful and attractive. One of the things which I loved here. This garden is full of colors. I almost spend five hours in Miracle garden and it was worth it. Sunset is the best time to be there. People who love flowers and nature will go crazy here like my parents. This garden is close to Global Village. These two places can be covered in a day but it can be hectic as both the places involves wondering.
Jumeirah - Dubai - United Arab Emirates
Like your first kid, first car, first bike, first boyfriend...Your first foreign visit also holds a very special place in your heart and yes it was Dubai (The Dubai) for me. Dubai , my home for almost an year is a crazy travelling destination .Walking through the beaches of jumeirah to the unending passages of creek makes it so mesmerizing that you would never want to turn back from there. Dubai is just a perfect place for the extremists like me, on one end you have world’s tallest tower while on the other are oldest the trading zones of creek. Now, if I start writing about all the year stories you would either sleep or close the tab. 1. Jumeirah Beach – Yes you have to be here, and not for an hour but at least for an entire evening or night (if possible). I would recommend a start with dining at one of the nearby restaurants at Jumeirah (may be Sofitel) and then moving to the beach. Trust me at least in Asia this is one of the best and beautiful beach.
