The Kadriorg Palace is set in a beautiful park where the Prime Minister's house is located. The Prime Minister is the actual political head of state, and their President is mainly a symbolic figure, who does not hold any executive power. We are pretty sure he was there as the flags were up, the red carpet was out, and guards were walking everywhere. It was a lovely walk through the park. The Palace and park were created by Tsar Peter I in the 18th century for his empress Catherine. The name, Kadriorg, means Catherine's Valley. We toured the Royal Palace, which is now an art museum.

This church, at one time, was the tallest building in all of Europe. It's a massive landmark in Tallinn and one of the most beautiful. The 12th century church is also unlucky having been hit by lightening many times and burned down thrice!Places to visit nearby TallinnFinland is just a ferry ride away. If you fancy a day trip to Helsinki (and for information to know prior to travel, the Indian Embassy is in Helsinki), just head to the harbour and take one of the many ferry rides to another country. In the country, heading to University town Tartu is an option or for the nature lovers, the Lahemaa National Park.
