The Sela Pass, is the high-altitude mountain pass located in Tawang District of Arunachal Pradesh and has an elevation of 4170 m (13,700 ft).The Jaswantgarh Army Memorial commemorates the bravery of the martyred Indian soldiers of the 1962 Indo-China War. Set in the scenic Tawang valley, the Memorial is dedicated to Rifleman Jaswant Singh of the 4 Garhwal Rifle. On arrival, check in to your hotel in Tawang. Tawang Monastery, Tawang: Tawang Monastery, in Arunachal Pradesh, is the largest monastery in India and second largest in the world after the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. It is situated in the valley of the Tawang River, near Tawang northwestern part of Arunachal Pradesh, in close proximity to the Tibetan and Bhutanese border.Tawang Monastery is known in Tibetan as Galden Namgey Lhatse, which translates to "celestial paradise in a clear night." It was founded by Merak Lama Lodre Gyatso in 1680-1681 in accordance with the wishes of the 5th Dalai Lama, Ngawang Lobsang Gyatso. Tawang War Memorial
This permit then you have to submit at the brigade office which is opposite to war memorial. In general, it takes INR 10 for the permit application n INR 10 per permit but if you plan to get it done through agents then they charge you INR 700. As we had bikes , riding around to DC office and Brigade’s office was not difficult.
Pankang Teng Tso Lake
Tawang is made up of high mountains, thick snow, deep valleys and crystal blue lakes. One such lake is the Pankang Teng Tso lake. Located 17 kms away from the main town, this lake is a great place for spending some time with nature. The picturesque landscape is a sight for sore eyes. The beautiful blue water running amidt the wilderness, snow capped peaks that glitter with the falling sun rays, chirping birds and gushing water, all make a visit here worth the time. It is hard to come across so much beauty at once and in that aspect Pankang Teng Tso does give it all to you! Note- The best time to visit is in summers since the lake remains frozen during winters.
