Nagpur
Best time to visit - January,February,October,November,December
Though it's a small city making its way towards commercialisation, Nagpur is a delight to discover. It also offers all its visitors a delicious variety of oranges. More importantly, Nagpur is the gateway to many national parks and reserves including Pench National Park and Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve. Among places to see in Nagpur, Shree Ganesh Mandir Tekdi, Deeksha Bhoomi and Nagpur Ramtek temple are great options to include in your itinerary. The high quality mandarin oranges grown here are souvenirs to carry back home in case you are here for a day. Though, it's best not to expect too much from the city as a tourist since you might be disappointed.
Bhopal

Considered to be one of the greenest cities in the country, Bhopal, is a place that one cannot afford to leave off their tourist trail. Adorned by many natural and as well as manmade lakes and water bodies, Bhopal is often referred to as the ‘City of Lakes.’ The city is home to a number institutions and places that are of great national importance. The city houses ISRO’s Master Control Facility and the famous National Institute of Technical Training and Research (NITTTR), AIIMS and BHEL. The city has a number of attractions that lure many a tourist to tread along its roads. If one does plan a visit to this city, do not forget to pay a visit to the Bhimbetka Rock Caves, the superb artificial Upper Lake, try out the food at the historic Lazeez Hakeem Restaurant and visit the many mosques here. An unfortunate incident in December 1984 propelled Bhopal into the international arena. The case of the Union Carbide India Limited, a plant that manufactured pesticide, saw the leakage of a poisonous mixture of gases, especially methyl isocyanate that lead to the great disaster. Nevertheless, the city is clean now and promises one a great visit.
Khajuraho

This is a town in the Chhattarpur District of Madhya Pradesh. Mainly known for the ancient Khajuraho Temple Complex, this is the main attraction of this place apart from other small temples and old monuments. The temples in this complex are not just beautiful and grand, but each one of them are different from one another. The temples here represent royalty, culture, taste of the early kings and their devotion towards gods and goddesses. Most of the temples and monuments you will see here were built by the Chandela Dynasty rulers and their religious secularism is evident from the presence of Buddhist and Jain temples in which they had supported along with the famous Hindu Temples. The main temples of this temple complex are the Kandariya Mahadev Temple, Brahma Temple, Varaha Temple, Lakshmana Temple and others.
Pachmarhi

We've all heard and seen this beautiful hill station in umpteen Bollywood flicks! Enveloped by the Satpura hills, Panchmari is tucked into a corner of Madhya Pradesh. It is also prominently known as 'Satpura ki Rani'. Pachmarhi has a list of attractions that will make any tourist super happy. As for travellers, you can head to any corner of the hamlet to discover its many treasures. From viewpoints to rock cut caves, from lush green forests to cascading waterfalls, wildlife to extensive water bodies, there is no dearth of places to visit. Sunder Kund, Pandav Caves, Catholic Church and Satpura National Park are to name a few. The cave shelters at Mahadeo Hills are wondrous works that depict love tales and scenes through rock paintings. Cave paintings, as old as 10,000 years, exist in the forests of Pachmarhi. The spectacular Jamuna Prapat works as the water supplier for the hill station and you will see it a number of times while making your way through this hill station. The meandering roads through the groves will effortlessly take you through the picturesque spaces, old cottages, and gardens which have an air of tranquillity and old world essence about it. There are a number of places to stay here, from budget to luxurious hotels. And foodies don't have to worry about their quota of delicious food. There are various restaurants that serve a plethora of cuisines and local delicacies.
Jabalpur

If you like history, culture and nature, then you will love Jabalpur. Located in Madhya Pradesh, the city has a lot to offer travellers – from temples to forts and nature to wildlife. The most famous tourist spot is the Dhuandhar Falls in Bhedaghat that flows with immense power. The water makes its way through the well-known marble rocks that cast myriad-coloured shadows all across the landscape. For those interested in history, the Chauragarh Fort and Rani Durgavati Memorial and Museum make for an interesting tour. The Dumna Nature Reserve Park is a great place for birdwatching, though the only animals you'll find here are crocodiles. End your tour by offering prayers at the Hanumantal Bada Jain Mandir, which was constructed in the 17th century. Jabalpur has its own airport and frequent flights are available from all major cities of India. Jabalpur also has a railway station that lies on very prominent rail routes.
Jhansi

Famously known for freedom fighter Rani Lakshmi Bai, Jhansi is an integral part of India's historical past. Considered to be the gateway to Bundelkhand, Jhansi, in Uttar Pradesh, is located in the middle of two rivers. Though Jhansi is not well known for its scenic beauty, it's a delight for history lovers, photographers and explorers. If monuments and forts are what interest you on a holiday, begin with the Jhansi Fort. Located on Bangira Hill, this fort is perhaps the most important tourist site in Jhansi. If you happen to be here during February, you will get an opportunity to witness the lovely festival of Jhansi Mahotsav, when actors and dancers from all over India come together to perform plays. Do also visit the Orchha Fort, which is located in Orchha village. Known for its architectural brilliance, it's a great way to spend your afternoon. Orchha is also home to numerous temples and forts that are definitely worth your time. For a relief from the concrete structures, you can visit Rani's Amod Garden. Lush and refreshing greenery greets you and it's a great way to spend a quiet evening. Do also visit Baradari, the Hanging Tower and Shiva temple.
