Day 1, Jan 4th, 2017: As we landed at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi airport, we almost forgot the weariness of the journey from Guwahati the previous evening, the long wait at Kolkata airport, and the almost lack of sleep on the flight due to excitement (or was it too much coffee). Visa on arrival was done quickly enough and hassle free as we excitedly took pics from inside the car as our car sped through early morning Bangkok traffic to Don Muang airport for our flight to Phuket.

Patong Beach Patong Phuket Thailand
My first day diving began with an 8am pickup at my hostel in Patong Beach. This was followed by a forty five minute drive to the pier. Here I was introduced to my instructor (Bryan) and two other Americans who were doing the course along with me. I was much less experienced (four dives) than the two other guys, who had over a hundred dives logged.
Day 2 started with my friends and i driving up to Bang Tao Beach which is about 15 km away from Patong. It's one of the more secluded beaches of Phuket , and it's beautiful, but it was so hot right when we reached at 1pm that we decided to skip going into the water and instead head somewhere else. We sat there for a while and shared just a plate of fried rice amongst ourselves as everything there was priced 3 times the usual. We left Bang Tao and headed back south, passing Surin Beach on our way. We stopped at a Malaysian food stall to have some Super spicy Malay prawn curry with rice .I was on the scooty for about an hour and i think 70% of my tanning started and ended there itself in the scorching heat. (Atleast i thought so)We then headed to the Kata and the Kata Noi beach. Both the beaches are adjacent to one another . The setting reminded me a lot of the Flic en Flac village in Mauritius. There's not much to do in Kata Noi apart from admiring the beautiful scenery , walking on the super soft sand and taking a swim in the beautiful water. Kata beach on the other hand is a surfing favourite , so you might catch some surfers riding some waves against the beautiful backdrop. There are quite a few people who come there but definitely less than what one will see on the Patong beach. If you're the kind who likes to have the waves pull you push you here and there, Kata Beach is a must for you! ( I actually enjoyed that)I headed back to the Patong street market and had Tom Yum Kung Shrimps with rice (blissfull) for dinner and took a walk around the beautiful streets of the town to end my Beachy day.
Bangla Patong Phuket Thailand
I stayed at Bodega Hostel which is very close to the famous Bangla Road. This is probably the best hostel I stayed at in Thailand, in terms of the complete package i.e. atmosphere, great dorms and friendly staff. I stayed in the right person mixed dorms and it was a wonderful experience. I met a lot of people from all across the globe and the entire vibe about the place was really friendly. Every evening we would start with a few drinking games followed by a bar crawl in which we would go to a few bars on Bangla Road.I would highly reccomend staying here. I am sure Dan, Ben and Jake (the owners/staff) will make you have a great time.
Kamala Kammala Phuket Thailand
Well the most important step was choosing the right accommodation. What wanted was optimum comfort as well as a luxurious stay. That when I decided to choose a private Villa from Live Phuket. My partner and me both decided that we would choose a Villa on the Kamala beach. We choose a pool villa Shenling Villa 1 at Kamala, Phuket. In simple words, the services offered by Live Phuket was simply mind blowing. This villas was sheer combination of privacy and comfort. We got complete complete peace and seclusion there. We got transferred to Villa upon arriving in Phuket on Thursday. We decided to spend that day at leisure on our villa spending quality time with each other. I am extremely grateful to the professionals at Live Phuket for their generous services. After a complete day and night rest, we decided to explore Phuket. After an sumptuous lunch at the Villa, our tour began
The Khao Phra Thaeo Wildlife Sanctuary Thep Kasattri Phuket Thailand
Bang Pae Safari was certainly the right way to start the tour. This safari offered us elephant tour trekking its way through the rubber trees and shallow streams. You can even get the opportunity to ride on the elephant’s head by switching places with the mahout’s spot. Next to that is the Khao Phra Thaeo Wildlife Sanctuary. There you can pay a visit to the non profit organization of Gibbon Rehabilitation Project. This organization works on providing the captured gibbons a natural habitat. These cute adorable apes will surely bring a smile to your face. You will also their acrobatic movement. We decided to take a cool plunge into the refreshing pool below the Bang Pae Waterfall few minutes into the rainforest.
James Bond Island Tour Canoe Thep Kasattri Phuket Thailand

Roots Rock Reggae Bar & Shop Patong Phuket Thailand
On our night out at Roots Rock Reggae, we were utterly joyous to discover a Thai Ska band, their trumpets and trombones calling back memories of nights in Brixton and at Glastonbury watching The Specials. I came to the conclusion that you could spend a whole year in Festival Land (Chiang Mai) and still not absorb everything on offer. Jon said it reminded him of Melbourne, for myself it felt more like Perth due to it's situation on a river, the very relaxed atmosphere and the arty scene and hidden gems every where you go. It was like when someone hands you a cake box as a surprise and you peer in the white cardboard to find a carefully sculpted delicious treat waiting for you.
Phuket Aquarium Wichit Phuket Thailand
For reasons unknown to us, the Phuket Aquarium isn’t visited as much as Phuket zoo and yet is about 600 times better, in my opinion. It’s also in stunning Panwa, which is worth visiting for its sheer beauty. The tickets are cheap too! Perhaps our daughter’s favorite part of the aquarium is the last section before the exit, home to several gigantic groupers. After you’ve finished with the interior, make sure to do the nature walk that begins after the food and beverage section at the exit. It leads you along the beach and to an old boat, and if you continue you will get to see some large turtles in captivity.
Phi Phi island tour Phuket Thailand
The island hopping tour is a must. There are 3 options- The Phi Phi Island Tour, The Hong Island Tour, The 4 Island Tour Phi Phi Islands is supposed to be the prettiest, 4 Island best for kids, while Hong Islands the most adventurous. We chose to visit the Hong Islands. I cannot imagine a better way to spend the day. We booked a private longtail boat for the 2 of us, and were picked up right by our hotel beach. The beautiful expanse of sea, peppered with mountains surrounded us with its perfection.
Saphan Hin Phuket Thailand
Saphan Hin is a popular area for Thai families to have picnics and take strolls in the park. There are a number of clubs and sports activities for people of all ages ( including dancing) near the children’s jungle gym and play area. During the weekend, one can find many festivities and carnival rides ( such as a ferris wheel) as well as street food available, and there are barely and tourists ( if any whatsoever). Saphan Hin Park really comes alive at night.

White Box Restaurant Phuket Thailand
After the hectic day, we decided to choose a place where we can dine out in in peace. We choose the White Box Restaurant located at 245/7 Prabaramee Road offering an elegant interior with floor-to-ceiling windows with splendid terrace offering panoramic view of the ocean. The menu is a marvellous combination of both thai as well as Mediterranean flavors. The dinner cost approximately was 3000 baht. After dinner we decided to spend some leisure time on upstairs trendy open-air lounge. Here you can taste foods like made with vodka, galangal, spicy Tom Yum martinis, lemon grass, kaffir lime leaf and chili priced at 280 baht.
Mom Tri's Kitchen at Villa Royale Rawai Phuket Thailand
The sun has gone up in the sky. It was time for us to put a pause for our lunch. We opted the latest restaurant of Mom Tri namely Mom Tri’s Boathouse Regatta who is an entrepreneur owning a chain of HOTELS and restaurant in Phuket. The food here is utterly delicious. I would recommend curried fried rice with seafood, cashews and pineapple costing 300 baht along with lobster ravioli with morel mushroom velouté priced at 500 baht
Krabi Phuket Thailand
Beach fun of course. The main water activity in Krabi is enjoying the waves and kayaking. Because of its rock formations jet skiing, banana boat riding and water skiing are not common in Krabi. Some of the islands boast great diving & snorkelling, so that’s a must do. Rock climbing is another perfect adventure activity if you aren’t too scared (I was). Walking around and discovering our island was a brilliant way to spend one day, we realised the east side and the west side of Railay are just 15 mins away by a small path, and both had a charm of their own. A little beach on the west side had the prettiest rock formations and mountains you could either climb or swim under. A makeshift cave-temple dedicated to fertility was a fun picture opportunity.
Fantasea Tour Kammala Phuket Thailand
Fantasea show, Las Vegas style Thai cultural show inspired with number of new technology and must visted place for those who wants to know about Thailand culture.. The show is really fantastic - but also very touristy .I first wandered through all the souvenir shops and some games stalls and finally I Watch live dance stunts that tells stories of ancient Thailand. The show creates beautiful moments of emotion. The hundreds of actors are very energetic and generous. it's true that it's a bit pricey (1500 baht =2900rs approx) .show is only of 2 hours and it is of great quality.Must visit place.
Siam Niramit Phuket Koh Keaw Phuket Thailand
Shows - Thailand has a rich cultural heritage. There are a lot of night shows like the Siam Niramit show, Calypso Lady Boy show, Aksra Puppet show. I watched the Siam Niramit show. It is a mixed show which shows the history, culture and lifestyle of Thailand. Worth a watch for the sets and how quickly they change them after the end of one show. Tickets cost 1500 baht for a normal seating and 2000 baht for a VIP seating. They also offer dinner prior to the show at an extra cost. Dinner starts at 6 pm so you can skip buying tickets with dinner. Nightlife - Without any doubts Bangkok has the most happening nightlife. I had visited the Skybar Rootop at Lebua, the place where Hangover 2 was shot. Worth every penny you spend. It is on the 64th floor and from there you get a panoramic view of Bangkok.I stayed in Bangkok for 5 days and enjoyed every minute of it. If you still haven't added Thailand to your bucket list, visit it once and I bet you will visit again. Do find your reasons to love Bangkok !!
Thanon Ong Sim Phai
We wanted to avoid the crowd of the beaches. So decided to pay a visit to the inland town of Phuket. We decided to visit the night food court of Ong Sim Phai Road. This place was bursting will portable stall and carts along with several arrangements of plastic chair and tables arranged on the street for the visitors to sit. This place offers authentic Thai and Chinese dishes including mouthwatering foods like coconut curry, spicy papaya salad, grilled fish balls, barbecued pork buns. Lastly for dessert, you can taste the authentic dish of Thailand. You must pretty confused as to where to eat. Well we followed a simple trick that was opted for the stall which had longest line of waiting visitors. Trust me, the food was superb and certainly cost effective with just 190 baht.
