Also known as Taramangalam, this is a panchayat town in the Salem District. This town is mainly known for the Taramangalam Temple or Kailashanathar Temple. This is a beautiful historic temple and has exquisite carvings on each and every part of the temple. Stone carvings and stone pillar work look beautiful here. The Yali carvings and the incident of Lord Rama who killed the demon Vali are all inscribed here. There are other mytholigical incidents inscribed and carved on the walls too. The sanctum sanctorum has the idol of Lord Shiva or the Linga and this is where devoteed crowd to seek the blessings of the Kailash Natha. The place is however peaceful and fills the mind spiritual and divine freshness after you come here.
