If you are partial to the beauty offered by nature more than man made wonders, you are sure to love Sajjan Garh. The palace is small but the views are stunning. The palace is not maintained well but the sunset view from here is awesome. The palace was constructed by Maha Rana Sajjan Singh in 1884. The aim of the king was to construct an observatory here to observe the arrival of monsoon as well as predict weather conditions. Owing to his untimely demise, the work was not completed. However, the views from here fascinate you beyond words. Nearly 1000 feet above the sea level, the views of Udaipur from here are breathtaking.

He recommended me one, i forgot the name but really enjoyed my dinner beside lake in dim light of candle. It was a great way to end the long ride (700 kms till backpacker panda). Upre is one of the up class restaurants which is known for serving some fine dinner and a great experience, both you will never be able to forget. Upre means upstairs in the language of Mewari. The tables are individually set up with proper and private tents to give a royally romantic feel. The speciality of the place is Mewari food. Indian Chinese is another cuisine that they excel in. The experience itself will take you to a place youve never been.
Amet haveli out side chand pole, Hanuman ghat road near amba mata gate, Naga Nagari Udaipur, Cheerwa, Ambamata, Udaipur, Rajasthan 313001, India
1. Ambrai: (Best for:Dinner)Located on Lake Pichola, Ambrai Udaipur probably has the most breathtaking view you would ever experience in your life. The menu has both Indian and International cuisines to offer but if you are a stickler as far as “genuineness” of the dish goes, my suggestion would be to try their Indian or more specifically their Mewari Menu. Khichdi, Govind gatte ki sabzi are some of the must trys. Just looking at the brightly lit lake and sipping on a glass of wine (again the menu is anything but elaborate there but it’s the thought that counts-isn’t it?) is an unforgettable experience in itself. It’s better to call them ahead and reserve a lakeside table because they are always busy. Dinner bill for two with drinks Rs.1000-1500/-P.S.: We normally carry only our phones to Udaipur so our pics may not do justice to the words on this blog. I have tried to pick up pictures from the internet and even though they are not the best, you still may get a fair idea about the places. So must check out Ambrai restaurant Udaipur during your next Udiapur trip.

A fort atop the hills overlooking all the lakes. You can get their by a car or unleash your adventure junkie and enjoy a wonderful trekking experience to the fort entrance. You will be able to spot some glorious views of the city and other heritage sites from the fort. I never got the chance to visit the fort but like every Indian fort has, it is also associated with some haunted stories and thus the fort is closed as soon as the sun sets.

As the name suggests, this is one of the top notch restaurants in Udaipur. Not only Indian food, but this place is also known for Western cuisines. In fact, it is an ideal food hub for those who want a good option for lunch and desserts. The hospitality and relaxed environment is an add-on advantage. The restaurant is made in a vintage bungalow which dates back to 16th century. The ambiance cannot be described in words and the interiors of the place must be minimal but is quite extraordinary.
