Crossing the bridge we reached to the beautiful small island of Burano. Burano is a lovely island which has very colourful facades in all the houses. It was like a completely different world there. Small cananls with smooth water and boats on it gave it a picturesque look. The beauty of that place is really difficult to capture in photos. Such was the ambiance of Murano.

This beautiful pink and white marble building was once a palace for the supreme authority of the former Republic of Venice, but is now open to public as a museum. 5. Buy a fruit cup from the permanent market stalls in piazza delle Erbe and feel virtuous for taking a pizza/gelato break. Or, if you need something more substantial, visit the food floor of department store Excelsior just around the corner on Via Mazzini. Though somehow, despite all the choices on offer, my parents and I managed to all order hamburgers when I visited with them. oops.
