Yaganti Tourism & Travel Guide

Located in the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, Yaganti is famous for the Uma Maheshwara temple. The Archeological Survey of India has confirmed devotees’ claims of the Nandi statue growing in size by an inch every 20 years. The temple has great mythological significance, owing to the legend of Sage Agastya paying his penance here. There are many cave temples located adjacent to the Uma Maheshwara temple, and it is a treat to watch the caves lit up with diyas at night. The nearest railway station is in Panyam, which has regular trains from Secunderabad. Yaganti can be reached by road from Hyderabad and Kurnool as well.
