If you are going to be staying at a hotel for a week or more, do not just rely on the discounts you get on the booking sites. You can call up the hotel and negotiate a better deal. For longer stays, hotels often offer upgraded discounts, as hotels always prefer long-stay guests than new guests, since they can turn a better profit from one room. If you're travelling with your family, or friends, you will always be short of plugging points in your rooms. Especially if you are not carrying a multi plug point device. There are so many things to charge up before you step out - your phone, your cameras, your laptops, your Mac books. Use the hotel TV to charge up at least some of your device. If you have adjoining rooms, and have access to two TV sets, make the most of it.

This is something you really should sort out before your trip. Most hotels, especially luxury ones often charge you quite a lot for Wi-fi. You often end up paying on an hourly basis just to use the Internet. You don't need to use the hotel Wi-fi at all, if you are smart. Just call up your Internet provider and set up a hotspot service. If your room has a TV with an HDMI port, you can access the hotspot connection and stream anything you like, from Netflix or HBO to your big screen TV directly from your laptop or your phone.

It is often advised that you should keep your baby's clothes and essentials separate from the rest of the luggage when you are travelling. A great way to do this is with laundry bags. Ask for extra laundry bags even if you don't use the laundromat services. They are great for storing your infant's stuff, and are also pretty light so they are pretty easy to carry around.

You can use the sugar and milk powder packets you get on flights or buy them separately, and make your own cup of coffee and literally save a fortune

This trick comes in handy in humid climates. Ask for an extra key card at the reception. Use one card to lock your door, and use the other to keep the electricity on in your room. This way you can leave your phones charging, or your AC running, or your shoes to dry. In tropical areas especially, it's always a hassle when we have to wait for the room to cool down.
