Growing up in Namma Bengaluru is definitely fun with a whole lot of places you can hang at and make some great memories that will stay with you long after you leave the city. Within this city filled with contradictions, constant change and a general zest for life, there's always plenty of things to do no matter how young or old you are.

Located at the heart of the city, Cubbon park in Bangalore is a place everyone likes to hang at whether you are a teenager or not. You can take a stroll along the beautiful flora around the place or pay a visit to the library, aquarium, archeological museum and all the monuments and statues that lie scattered within the park. From the 18th century when it was built originally, this has been one of the most popular hang-out places of Bangaloreans be it for work-out, recreation or just for some serenity within all the hustle and bustle of the city.

India’s most loved amusement park which has people visiting it from many neighbouring places, Wonderla is easily one of those places Bangaloreans will surely make a lot of memories growing up. The rides are great and if not just for that the resorts within and around the place are great for spending a weekend and having a good time, especially when you’re with a bunch of friends.

Whether you shop on the many stores (big and small) on it or walk around gorging on all the street food, MG road is a great place to hang out in Bangalore. It’s only gotten better and bigger through the past few years with more coffee shops, pubs and restaurants popping up here. If you’ve made plenty of memories on this road growing up in Bangalore, you sure will make many more living here.

All the big (and some small) brand stores on the Brigade road sure make it a great place to shop at but people who grew up in Bangalore would agree that there’s much more to the Brigade road than just shopping. With all the many pubs, bars and coffee shops here, there’s a lot more to do here than just to shop. One thing is for sure, all the New Years’ eves spent here growing up will definitely have made for many unforgettable memories.

One of the favourite getaways of Bangaloreans – the Nandi Hills is one place that many day trips and long-drives end at. The yoganandeeshwara temple, the nandi temple, the Tipu’s peak and the Amrita sarovar lake which are all laid out among some beautiful gardens as pathways are always just as enchanting as ever, no matter how many times we visit here.

Lal Bagh may be one of those must-visit places in Bangalore for tourists but for the locals, it is definitely one that holds a lot of memories. Apart from the fact that a lot of them spend many weekends visiting the gardens, there are many who like to do their morning and evening runs and walks in these gardens amidst all the beautiful flora. The Independence day and Republic day ceremonies held here are quite famous too and quite a few people turn up each year.

Lumbini gardens has been around for quite some time in Bangalore and I’m sure left a lot of Bangaloreans with a whole lot of memories growing up. Far quieter and smaller than Wonderla, this is a place where children still love going to for the pools and rides that it’s got. The boating in the lake here is another reason people love spending time in these gardens.

Within the bustling Bengaluru lies the quiet and beautiful Ulsoor lake with a whole lot of greenery and scenic natural beauty to savour. It is only natural that the place draws all the locals who want to unwind and relax in the middle of a hectic day - which is why Bangaloreans seem to love this place. It is filled with college students, working men and women as much as it is filled with tourists and kids. People also like to go running and walking in the morning and evening as the park is open to the public as early as 6:00am.

There are many reasons that the locals love Bangalore palace – it is a marvelous architectural structure with plenty of history to it, the fun world with all the rides that is located outside of the palace, there are a lot of concerts that usually happen to be held here and there's so much more to the place than just all this. The place has remained the same with all its charm and beauty and yet grown in its own way in all these past years. Surely, growing up in Bangalore involves a whole lot of memories with the palace.

Visiting the Bannerghatta national park is an experience that is cherished by kids and adults alike for all that it has to offer. The safari, butterfly park and all the wild animals of the park are something that a whole lot of Bangaloreans and tourists alike love coming back to. This makes the biological park one filled with some fun memories for people who grew up here.
