Illinois is a lovely state! After New York we flew down to Chicago welcomed by the flashy city with an exquisite sky-line. Because our flight got delayed (a lot) we reached 4 hours post the scheduled time and had no time to go around the city. Our cousin had us booked in Hyatt Regency overlooking waterfront which had a magnificent view. We went down to the in-house bar to get some drinks and slept off our fatigue.

I fall short of words to describe Chicago as it is such a fine blend of a touristy hub and a work city. It's fast yet has a calm to its pace. Driving around the city we decide to go to Navy Pier first thing and took a city tour though a boat. Lovely fragrance of chocolate wafted though the crisp air indicating a major factory nearby. Picking up some food from a local barbecue we went on rides, trotted around the boisterous streets.

We had little time in Chicago, so we mainly stuck to the touristy rut

Chicago looked gorgeous from our balcony. Hyatt Regency has a fairly good bar, where there is a lot of space to move around and is not squishy. We just took our breakfast from here which was a buffet but had great amount of variety. The rooms have plush beds and numerous munching options. Bathrooms here are the best! If you want to spend some extra dollars spend them here.

Most touristy place in Chicago, The bean has a weird aesthetic appeal to it. Millennium park houses various events throughout the year, if you're lucky you can get into one. This place is modernly artsy. You'll love how shiny, spikey and full of shapes it is here.

Navy Pier is sheer excitement! You have boat tours, rides, shopping, food everything. It's a heaven for kids and some of us looking to unleash the child within. The boat tour throughout the city is a good deal mainly if you are short of time. In fall the Halloween decorations are a treat!

University town, this is a amiable place bustling with students and has cheap accommodation too. A little drive to the outskirts of the city takes you to wonderful factory outlets of plethora of brands. A total shoppers' paradise!

Such delicious Mexican food that it will make you cry tears of joy! Vegetarian tacos here are unbeatable.
What froyos! TCBYs is one place that offers best sinful indulgences. You can dump every chocolate, candies, gummies imaginable on your yogurt. Avoid orange sherbet, it might take a toll on your throat.
