It all started last year when I took the first trip to the valley of flowers in Maharashtra with my friend. Since it was the first time joining some travel group, I was not much confident if I will be able to gel with a group of people. Also, I wasn't sure what type of traveler or I am a traveler or a tourist. So let's talk about what I learned about myself as a traveler.

So travel is in all a great experience. It teaches you a lot. I have always been an introvert and my biggest fear was to meeting new people. And I am sure some of us face the same fear. But meeting new people, knowing their journey, what they are up to in their lives inspire us to step out of our cubicle life.

Traveling to remote and offbeat places is something I really enjoy. My idea of a vacation is not to sit in an expensive resort and enjoy the pool and drinks. And that's what I guess makes you a true traveler when you are ready to travel with basic amenities also.

So when my friends ask me why you travel so much or why I spend so much on it, I can't really explain it to them. Because they can't feel the magic of it by sitting at home and listening to my explanation or stories. I haven't been on solo trips yet but usually travel with travel groups and join in as solo.

So whichever way I am managing my travel, I am doing it pretty well I guess. Somewhere I feel 2019 has come but still society doesn't accept the idea of traveling in a positive way and especially we girls have faced it at some point in our lives, be within family or friends. But we should break those barriers and step out and see how beautiful each and every place is there.

I have heard stories of people daring to leave their jobs and travel the world, we all want to do it. But haling from a descent not so rich family not every one of us can take that risk. But that doesn't mean we can't do it with our jobs. Just sharing how I manage to do it-

I work as a Software Engineer Monday to Friday but have always managed to travel along with this. I know it looks easy but it isn't when u trek only two days you get to rest from work and then get back to the office after sleepless nights of trips. But still, I could do that every weekend and never regret sacrificing them because for me traveling is an investment. The return of it is cherished whole life in terms of experience and positive attitude I am filled with.

It's pretty easy to manage the expenses for traveling along with paying for your rent and other necessities. One should know their priorities and problem is solved. I know my friends hate me for not joining them for parties and clubbing but I am clear of my priorities. I know the money saved from so many such weekend parties could earn me a vacation.

Shopping is every girl's dream but I have put it on a halt since I started traveling because saving on expensive branded dresses could again earn me an awesome descent vacation. And that's how I have managed to save on many such not so important expenses to present myself a vacation

I usually try to cover nearby places on weekends, leaving Friday night and coming back by Monday morning. So one place, once a month on weekends and a long trip once a year or sometimes 6 months. For long leave plans, it's not easy to spend huge amounts at one time so I always plan it 3 to 4 months prior. In such cases, I prefer to pay the travel agency in installments every month and see the problem is solved. The only other thing to manage is flight tickets which also come in a decent price if booking a few months prior.
