When we think of a relaxing week-long getaway, a busy city like Mumbai would probably be the last place that comes to our mind. But the city of Dreams is also full of surprises. From beautiful beaches to fun amusement parks, Mumbai has a place for everyone's taste.

Now, I know the list will be too long if I list out all the places. So, I tried my best to include all the must-see places.

Sanjay Gandhi National Park:

This 104 sq. km lush green wonderland obviously takes the first spot. It doesn't matter if you are visiting with your family, or friends, or alone Sanjay Gandhi National Park is a must-visit. The park has recently opened its door to the public in August after being closed for five months.

Toy train, boating and safari are some of the most popular attractions in the park. Sanjay Gandhi National Park is also famous for its beautiful hiking trails. And if hiking is not your cup of tea, you can visit the 2000-years-old Kanheri Caves to capture the Buddha relics. Since the park is one of the most popular spots in Mumbai, it can get really crowded on the weekends. So if you are not a fan of that, make sure to go on the weekdays.

Nehru Centre:

If exploring the constellations is your ideal getaway, then you should check out the Nehru Centre. Built in the memory of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, this center propagates his teachings and ideas through educational and cultural programs. This dome-shaped planetarium teaches astronomy and science to curious young ones.

You can also enjoy stargazing at the sky theatre and stand at the cubicle that calculates your weight in each of the nine planets of the solar system. The planetarium also has a miniature galaxy with the Sun at the center, the Moon’s surface, a view of Earth from the Moon, an art gallery, library, etc.

Hanging Garden:

What is a better way to relax than walking around greenery? Located in the Malabar Hills area of Mumbai, Hanging Garden is one of the most popular attractions among both locals and tourists. The park is also recognized as one of the best Tourist Attractions by ThreeBestRated. The gardens use terrace-style plantation on grass, hence the name "Hanging."

They became popular for the serene green surroundings, animal-shaped sculpted hedges, old woman’s shoe, and the flower clock. You can also find birds and all kinds of rare insects in the park. The park also has an amazing view of the majestic horizon of the Arabian Sea.
